Woman who accuses Opposition Leader Bill Shorten of rape says police failed her

A WOMAN who claims she was raped by federal Labor leader Bill Shorten has accused Victoria Police of failing to investigate properly because of his position of power.
Earlier this year, authorities decided not to press charges against Mr Shorten because prosecutors felt that “there was no reasonable prospect of conviction”.
The woman, Kathy, asked that her surname not be published, but agreed to be photographed.
Interviewed by the Herald Sun in Queensland, she said the trauma of what she says happened to her had been exacerbated by what she sees as an inadequate police investigation.
“I had three main witnesses ... I gave them the phone number of one, her maiden and married names, told them she lived in Melbourne.
“The police told me they couldn’t find her,” Kathy said.
“But they went to all of Bill’s friends,’’ she said.
Mr Shorten’s press secretary Ryan Liddell last night referred to Mr Shorten’s statement in August: “The claim has now been thoroughly and rigorously investigated by police, as is entirely proper.’’
Mr Shorten said then: “I fully co-operated to clear my name. And that is what I have done ... The police have now concluded the investigation. The decision speaks for itself.”
A Victoria Police spokesman said the force was satisfied that the matter had been “fully investigated”.
Kathy told the Herald Sun she felt let down and devastated by how police had handled the matter.
“With another witness, the police tried to say she was influenced by the media, which doesn’t make any sense.
“I don’t think I had a hope in hell with the police because of who he is,” Kathy said.
“If Bill was just a regular guy I think it would have been different. The police would have had a load of evidence to do something.
“I left it in the hands of the police, and they did nothing.”
Kathy, now 44, alleges Mr Shorten raped her at a Labor youth conference in Portarlington in the winter of 1986, when she was just 16.
The community nurse completed a 19-page police statement with detectives from Victoria Police’s sexual offences squad last October 23.
“The police rang me up in April and told me they had called Bill in for questioning.
“They then said the case was closed and that they weren’t going to reopen it,” Kathy said.
“They said I would not be able to get access to any of the evidence. They said I could apply through Freedom of Information but I wouldn’t get it.
“I never really had a leg to stand on. They have tried to bully me,” she said.
“ I have got rights, and they are trying to take away my rights. People are treating me like a nutcase.
“It doesn’t mean I’m stupid or I’m fabricating things.”
Kathy had a rapid rise in Young Labor when elected to the rural policy committee.
She became a delegate for party state and national conferences in 1986.
Soon after joining Labor she says she came to know Mr Shorten — himself a rising star in the party.
After he travelled to Wodonga to meet local members, Kathy says she began speaking to him on the phone regularly about party and policy issues.
Kathy says she and her sister went to Portarlington for the youth Labor conference during the winter of 1986.
Kathy says she was raped by Mr Shorten after being pushed into a bathroom in the early hours of the morning.
She says no one else was present. A number of Young Labor members had spent the evening drinking and smoking marijuana, she says.
In her police statement, Kathy outlined how she came to know Mr Shorten and what she said happened on the night in question.
Kathy says she was raped after a group had arrived back from going for a drive.
“There was a knock at the door,” Kathy says. “I thought it was my sister. I opened the door and it was Bill.”
Kathy says she and her sister left the camp the next day.
The Herald Sun has seen a police statement by Kathy’s sister, completed on October 23 last year, in which she confirms details about the location of the Labor youth camp and the people who were present.

Law change ‘could have jailed Shorten’
EXCLUSIVE: The conduct of Bill Shorten, if it were repeated under laws passed by Parliament yesterday, would attract "criminal sanctions" the Prime Minister has said.
PRIME Minister Malcolm Turnbull says Bill Shorten could have faced criminal charges and even jail time had the government's new laws on union corruption been in place when the Australian Workers' Union pocketed $75,000 in secret payments from the Cleanevent business.

Re: Bill Shorten
what was that about being known by the company you keep and bad political judgement?Close allies of Bill Shorten on multiple criminal charges for alleged vandalism spree
Ben Schneiders and Nino Bucci
A close friend of Opposition Leader Bill Shorten will face court on 10 criminal charges after an alleged politically motivated vandalism spree on the morning of the federal election.
Andrew Landeryou and two other factional allies of Mr Shorten will appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on February 15 on five charges of theft and five of criminal damage. Mr Landeryou, an ex-bankrupt and notorious former blogger, is the son of a former state Labor MP and is married to new Labor Senator Kimberley Kitching.
Both Senator Kitching and Mr Landeryou are close friends and political allies of Mr Shorten. The Opposition Leader in October controversially backed Ms Kitching in her successful bid to replace Stephen Conroy in the Senate.
Also facing five charges of theft and five of criminal damage is David Asmar, an alleged Labor branch stacker, who has long-standing factional links to Mr Shorten.

Re: Bill Shorten
For more detailed information...Bill Shorten’s alleged crimes are fraud, theft, adultery and rape to name a few. Should he be PM?
Bill Shorten’s past which includes alleged crimes of fraud, theft, adultery and rape haven’t stopped him being in a position where he has a good chance of becoming Prime Minister in 7 weeks on the 2nd of July 2016. So it is worth again looking at what crimes he may or may not have committed which this website has covered many times but some of which the mainstream media has missed or underreported.
Shorten’s history covers everything from major fraud and theft when he was Victorian and National Secretary of the Australian Workers Union (AWU), raping another union member at a camp, branch stacking to become a politician and improve the power of the AWU and getting one of his staff members pregnant.
Fraud and theft when he was in the Union movement
The Trade Union Royal Commission that went from 2014 to 2015 highlighted many crimes by Bill Shorten and the AWU when he was in charge. This should have been something that the federal government could highlight during the federal election campaign as to Shorten’s unsuitability to be Prime Minister but for some reason they are refusing to do so at this point.
One example is the Chiquita Mushroom scam run by Shorten in the early 2000s where workers who worked as pickers at Chiquita Mushroom received lower wages in return for direct payments to the AWU. Shorten negotiated the deal directly with the owners of Chiquita Mushroom and the workers knew nothing.
The Royal Commission heard many stories similar to the Chiquita Mushroom scam where Shorten would rip off workers for the benefit of the AWU or himself. Other companies where similar dodgy deals were done include Labor hire company Unibuilt which donated $40,000 to Shorten’s election campaign in 2006 which Shorten only declared a couple of days before he gave evidence at the Royal Commission last year.
Another example is Shorten’s deal with Cleanevent where for a donation of $25,000 a year to the AWU Cleanevent staff were ripped of millions of dollars in wages. (Click here to read more)
Then there is also the $100,000-a-year fake invoice scam Shorten negotiated from Thiess-John Holland.
The list of companies and employees Shorten ripped off when he was at the AWU is a mile long but the above alone is bad enough and shows what Shorten is like.
Ongoing fraud at the HSU
We don’t have to just look at Shorten’s past to know what he was like in the union movement because we can also look at what is happening currently at the HSU Victoria Number 1 Branch as it is being run by Bill Shortens supporters in the Labor Party. It is hurtling towards bankruptcy so much so that the Fair Work Commission (FWC) has stepped in with a written warning regarding possible legal action.
The reason bankruptcy is not far away is because of the massive fraud that has been happening at the HSU Branch since 2012 when Shorten in effect had his crew take over the branch. The corruption that is going on there is common knowledge in the Labor Party and union movement and why the Liberals/Nationals have not raised it in the election is odd.
Dodgy members and Branch Stacking
Another issue raised at the Royal Commission is that when Bill Shorten was at the AWU he was signing up employees of companies as members without their knowledge which gave him more voting power at Labor Party meetings etc.
It should be no surprise then that a legendary Labor Party branch stacker George Seitz made Shorten a federal politician in the first place.
Bill Shorten tried to cover-up that his former campaign manager now works in the Police Minister’s office
One thing that obviously helps Bill Shorten keep the wolves at bay regarding his crimes is the fact that Fiona Ward who is of Shorten’s former staff members works for the Victorian Minister for Police Wade Noonan MP. Bill Shorten tried his best not to name Fiona Ward when he gave evidence at the Royal Commission but was in effect forced to.
Rape allegations – Why Shorten must address the rape allegations before he becomes PM
On the 20th August 2014 the Victoria Police issued a statement in relation to rape allegations against Bill Shorten saying “Investigating police sought advice from the Office of Public Prosecutions, which advised there was no reasonable prospect of conviction,”.
At no stage has Bill Shorten been cleared of rape. Shorten issued a brief statement at the time but has refused to answer questions and give his side of the story.
If someone wants to be Australian Prime Minister, they have to answer all and every question that is put to them. If Bill Shorten is elected Prime Minister the rape allegations will eat away at his credibility until he has none left. At some stage he will have to address the issue. (Click here to read the numerous stories I have written about the rape investigation)
Shorten gets one of his staff pregnant
One of the most popular articles on this website is one published in 2012 about the rumour that Bill Shorten had an affair with one of his staff members who became pregnant. The rumour was published by News Corp’s Piers Akerman but he failed to name Shorten and just said it was a federal politician who had an affair. A few days later Shorten did a two-page interview with the Herald Sun denying the rumour but he did not say what the rumour was that he was actually denying. The bottom line is that Bill Shorten has never actually denied the specific rumour he had an affair.
Summary
The above is only a very short summary of Shorten’s corrupt history covered on this website but it is more than enough to show he is not suitable to be PM. As Prime Minister Bill Shorten will not be able to get away with the way he treats the media now nor will the media get away with failing to demand he answers the tough questions that he should.
Bill Shorten is almost bullet proof to any dirt campaign against himself because Malcolm Turnbull is not much better and that is the only thing keeping Shorten in the race for Prime Minister. Malcolm Turnbull has just as many skeletons in the closet himself and he is also owned by certain elements that dictate what he can and cannot do the same as Shorten is owned by the union movement and elements of the Labor Party. I have written about Turnbull’s past numerous times and will do so again given its election time and worth revisiting.
Whoever wins between Shorten and Turnbull will lose the next election if they last that long. The fact that we have had 5 Prime Ministers in the last 6 years shows that the Australian public won’t tolerate crooks and fools anymore. The Labor Party should have elected someone else as leader when they had the chance because they seen the damage former Prime Ministers Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard did to the Labor Party and Bill Shorten will do the same if he becomes PM

A Chinese political donor linked with embattled senator Sam Dastyari reportedly paid $55,000 to attend a lunch with Labor leader Bill Shorten.
Huang Xiangmo's donation to Labor was previously disclosed, but reports on Tuesday linked the transaction to a boardroom lunch in Sydney.
The meeting with the opposition leader took place in October 2015 during talks on the China-Australia trade deal.
