Give it time. Crime from a certain ... ahem ... ethnic group is so prolific that they don't even mention it on the news all the time otherwise 3/4 of the time slot would be that and only that.

A NSW man charged in relation to the shooting murder of police accountant Curtis Cheng told corrective services staff and firefighters he would "put a bullet" in every single one of them, a court has heard.

Raban Alou is facing a sentence hearing after pleading guilty to aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring a terrorist act by Farhad Jabar Khalil Mohammad, who fatally shot Mr Cheng outside NSW Police Headquarters in Parramatta in 2015.

Crown prosecutor Paul McGuire SC told the NSW Supreme Court on Monday that Alou was lacking remorse, had extremist views and poor prospects of rehabilitation.

He said the 20-year-old threatened corrective services officers and firefighters when there was a blaze at the prison, and made a hand gesture associated with Islamic State.

"I'll get every single one of you on the outside, I'll put a bullet in every single one of you," Alou said, according to the prosecutor.

Alou was also recorded during a Christmas Eve phone call with family members saying he had no regrets and wasn't going to apologise, Mr McGuire said.

The 20-year-old was told by Justice Peter Johnson at the beginning of his hearing that there could be repercussions for refusing to stand during his indictment for religious reasons.

The judge said Alou's refusal to stand in court was inconsistent with the position of the Australian National Imams Council, and he could see no religious basis for it.

HOMICIDE detectives say they are confident they are close to cracking the case of missing gangster Raphael Joseph after swooping on a property and discovering a “secret compartment” in a vehicle linked to his death.

NSW Police confirmed authorities have found the car that the missing Iraqi-born man, suspected murdered, was last seen in before his disappearance in 2014.

Another two vehicles discovered at the site could also be linked to the transportation of Mr Joseph’s body along with the drug supply syndicate who police believe are responsible for his murder.

Mr Joseph, then aged 37, was out with friends at Sydney’s The Star on March 20 when he asked to be driven to Auburn McDonald’s to “meet someone”.

At the McDonald’s, he asked friends to wait half an hour, but he was never seen again.

Reportedly a founding member of Assyrian gang DLAST HR, he was last seen getting into the back seat of a silver Holden Commodore about 11.20pm.

A father of five has been robbed of half-a-million-dollars then hit by a car as he gave chase down a street in Sydney's inner west.

The 45-year-old, who has asked not to be identified, parked his car outside his home in Lidcombe at 9.45pm last night.

As he took a bag of cash from the boot, which was the float from his business, he was approached by a man who grabbed the money and fled.
