Gladys Berejiklian

Post by Black Orchid » Sat Oct 14, 2017 10:19 am

Well it seems poor old Gladys is a bit worried about the by-elections today.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has warned of an “unfathomable” situation where the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party could hold the balance of power after the 2019 state election if it wins one or two by-elections today.

The Shooters hold the seat of Orange and are running against the Nationals in Cootamundra and Murray today. If Ms Berejiklian lost seven seats in 2019, she would lose her majority and either side of politics would have to form a minority government.

Latest internal polling has the Nationals winning Cootamundra by 7-10 per cent but falling over the line in Murray.

The Premier conceded it was possible the government could lose Murray. “I think it would be very dangerous for government in NSW if a party like the Shooters, who have dangerous policies, ended up with the balance of power,” Ms Berejiklian said. “That is something that would be unfathomable to the people of NSW.”

So much so she needs her profile lifted
The NSW Liberals are preparing an advertising campaign to showcase the government's infrastructure credentials and lift the profile of Premier Gladys Berejiklian 17 months before the 2019 election.

The proposed campaign, raised by NSW Liberal state director Chris Stone at a meeting of the party executive on Friday night, is understood to include television ads as well as social media.

It is set to focus on the government's achievements, but a senior Liberal source said the ads were also designed "to lift Gladys's profile".

Plans for the Liberal campaign coincide with new polling that shows Ms Berejiklian has a net favourable rating with NSW voters, but that even after eight months as Premier more than a third remain "neutral" about her and five per cent have never heard of her.

How can 5% have never heard of her? This is what she gets for making Sydney split at the seams with a melting pot of 'diversity'.

Now she is turning one of Sydney's oldest Housing Commission suburbs into a new 'city'. 5,000 new homes with 3 in 10 set aside for low income housing. What is she intending to do with the other 7 out of 10?

Taking it from 600 homes to 5,000 and whilst it will take many years to complete the infrastructure to support this will not be seen until 2023.

Way to go Gladys

More incompetence from Gladys's top boy.
TRANSPORT Minister Andrew Constance was warned by senior bureaucrats of the risk of the controversial Ferry McFerryface name, but went ahead anyway and made his own “Captain’s Pick”.

Freedom of information documents obtained by Channel Nine show that the cost of a public competition to name the new fleet of Sydney Harbour ferries cost $100,000.

It was reported that not only was the name McFerryface ineligible to be accepted under the government’s own criteria but it attracted just 182 votes compared with Clean Up Australia founder Ian Kiernan garnering 2025 eligible votes.

Transport for NSW briefed Mr Constance about “mitigating the risk of satirical naming campaigns” and avoiding “the highly publicised mishaps in the naming of ships in other jurisdictions”.

But in a statement last night Mr Constance’s office said media reports were “incorrect” about the ferry naming process.

A spokeswoman said the first round of votes for names showed Ferry McFerryface received 229 nominations and Ian Kiernan received 17.

Sorry Mr Constance but I don't believe a word you say. Creepy man and I am so sick of seeing his incompetent face on the nightly news.

He has the nerve to say "we" voted for the Ferry McFerryface name. As if!!

No banning required. I have suffered hostile abuse without banning so a difference of opinion is a walk in the park lol

The man made a "Captain's Pick" though which is fine if he admits to it but he had the nerve to tell us that the people voted for it.

I don't depend on ferries either but I still think the name is stupid 8-)

It sounds more suited to a children's picture book which is fine if you read Thomas the Tank Engine.

It's not the name so much that irks me it is the fact Constance chose it himself and then lied about it.
