Re: Declining Bee Populations
It amazes me that people still think the near global Colony Collapse Disorder is a mystery or caused by pesticides.
CSIRO has known since the mid 2000s CCD is caused by Varoa mites, which carry a fungus lethal to bees, and is why Australia has a booming industry exporting queen bees to the rest of the world.
In the late 2000s an until then unknown variety/sub species of Varoa mite was discovered in PNG, and Customs/Bio Security is reputedly desperately trying to keep it out of Oz.
Going on their past record (eg Panama disease with bananas, White spot with prawns) I'm guessing our bee industry is living on borrowed time.

If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?
