Does anybody remember Christmas Eve when they were little kids? The excitement and anticipation of what Santa might leave.

I remember trying to stay awake to hear Santa's slay-bells and all I ever heard was crickets.

Then I woke up and missed Santa ... an OLD man with a WHITE beard, wearing a red suit (in Summer) entering your bedroom to leave gifts you had on your List.

Sounds fake to me .... WHY do we continue with this rubbish, yet tell kids to avoid Old Men with Beards?

I honestly think it is a good thing.

Why

It taught me that adults tell lies and make up stories.

Easter bunny, Tooth Fairy, then Santa.

I went, 3 strikes, your full of shit.

Then I analysed the God story.... then the penny dropped. LOL.

I was 10.

I think it is good for kids to grow up with a sense of excitement and fantasy. It certainly doesn't hurt.

Kids have to grow up too quickly as it is.

Yes, it is about the kids today.

Nothing holy about the event except the excitement you talked about. I love that. One more sleep..... excitement in my house is very high.

Some good advice for Christmas Day :

Don't over do it

Don't over eat

Don't over drink

Don't over work

Just take it easy.

(Thinks to herself ..... God I so hope I can take my own advice)

you know I had a moment well it was just a moment driving to the shops on Friday I thought I wouldnt mind going to a church service Xmas morning..

I felt like it might put things back into perspective....then you hit the traffic and the lights drive you mad...the shops doesnt have the size you want..and so reality kicks in...but now you have mentioned it... well I did have the thought.. not sure if that counts.
