I wouldn't mind doing a cruise around Alaska. A very short cruise though. A few days would see me done.

Go for it BO !
Try a 7-10 days one from OZ as a tester!
It is very relaxing, no unpacking with great meals every day and lots of interesting ports to visit, not to mention the entertainment on board!
Even the Vanuatu/New Cal islands is a great 7-10 day cruise ( or Fiji.)
We have done two already this year, and of course NZ 13days in a couple of weeks!
And another in winter next year already booked!

They are usually not 6 weeks in Europe!

Stopping into ports for a day, regardless of tours paid for didnt really show us a lot!

That's a shame. Did it show you enough to want to go back? It really is quite beautiful and just a shame that it will disappear in to the ocean in time lol
