Wonder Woman was my ultimate childhood hero and, when frustrated, would exclaim Suffering Sappho! In my youth I learnt that Sappho was the first known female poet of ancient Greek culture. From, the little we know of her, she led an amazing life, especially given the limitations imposed by ancient Greek culture.
