We were talking about ultrasound for medical purposes NOT ship building.

Oh, and didn't the USA also invent the Pizza and that Atlantis (the fictional place) was discovered off the coast of Florida? :rofl

Oh, and Columbus didn't actually "discover" North America he didn't even land there ... Amerigo Vespucci did ... that is why it is called the AMERICAS.

Pizza and Spaghetti and Meatballs is an American thing....Italian American specifically but American.

Tomatoes are NATIVE to the America's and yes I am well aware of Americus,

Vespucci
The expeditions became widely known in Europe after two accounts attributed to Vespucci were published between 1502 and 1504. In 1507, Martin Waldseemüller produced a world map on which he named the new continent America after the feminine Latin version of Vespucci's first name, which is Americus.

Before this the Vikings were here.

There have been people living in the America's for thousands of years before European's came here.....10's of thousands of years,

Ultrasound was being used to determine the specific trauma caused within cadavers caused by a variety of gun shot rounds MANY DECADES prior to the Aussie who claimed he discovered or developed it as Ultrasound is a U.S. Military Black Program that goes back to 1939.

The Manhattan Project was a research and development undertaking during World War II that produced the first nuclear weapons. It was led by the United States with the support of the United Kingdom and Canada.
What has that to do with your Grandfather getting cancer? Was it proved "beyond a reasonable doubt" that working on the Manhattan Project caused his cancer? I doubt it.
Now as far as wouldn't I try anything to try to save either a relative or myself for dying of cancer the answer is NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not even take medication for the pain?
I live in Massachusetts home to Harvard Medical School as Harvard is ranked THE NUMBER ONE CANCER RESEARCH CENTER IN THE WORLD as well as Dana-Farber, UMASS, Caner Research Center of America and many many more.
I live in Canberra where the CSIRO resides, plus other Government funded centres that do cancer research. Aussie Scientists have discovered many things before you Americans have. We actually have a couple of such Scientific Members around here who could explain it much better than I can.

Australians are not as dumb as you seem to think. We Aussies have invented lots of stuff.

1. Black Box Flight Recorder

2. Spray on Skin (for burn victims)

3. Electronic Pacemaker

4. Google Maps

5. Medical Application of Penicillin

6. Polymer Bank Notes

7. Cochlea Implant (bionic ear)

8. Electric Drill

9. Winged Keel (sailing)

10. Permaculture

11. Wi Fi Technology!!!!!

12. Ultrasound Scanner

13. Plastic Spectical Lenses

14. Inflatable escape slide and raft

15. Permanent crease clothing

16. Gardasil and Cervarix CANCER vaccines!!!!

17. Frazier lens

18. Triton Workcentre

19. Racecam

20. Tank bred tuna system

Aussies have always been great inventors .... as were our Scottish ancestors.

Ok I NEVER EVER stated I thought Aussies were dumb...NEVER!!

That is something you ASSUMED!!!

The USA did NOT invent the pizza. You do realise that PIZZA was invented in Naples, Italy, NOT Naples, Florida, don't you? There was no such place as the United States of America in the 10th century.
The term pizza was first recorded in the 10th century, in a Latin manuscript from Gaeta in Central Italy.[1] Modern pizza was invented in Naples, Italy, and the dish and its variants have since become popular and common in many areas of the world.

Ahhhh the Americas, NOT the US of A then?
Vespucci

Again you generalise. America is named for good old Amerigo Vespucci ... that was NOT just the US of A but The Americas ...
Before this the Vikings were here.
So they say.

Ditto every other continent ... we all began in Africa, didn't you know, or did you think God created the USA in His image? Most yanks seem to think that. ;)

OK let me address the pizza issue first.

Now if you were to run a search you would see that on 11 June 1889, to honour the Queen consort of Italy, Margherita of Savoy, the Neapolitan pizzamaker Raffaele Esposito created the "Pizza Margherita", a pizza garnished with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, to represent the national colours of Italy as on the Italian flag.

But here is the problem.

You see TOMATOES are native to the America's and THE AMERICA'S ONLY just like the POTATO.

Back in the late 1600's and early 1700's the Europeans who settled in the New Word thought that Tomatoes were poisonous as they belonged to the Nightshade Family of plants thus they only fed tomatoes to horses.

The Tomato was sent back to Europe as horse food but eventually by the mid to late 1800's people began eating tomatoes and thus the Italians using tomatoes in their cuisine.

HOWEVER.....American Indians were eating tomatoes for centuries and placing cooked tomato sauce upon flat bread and eating it centuries before any European would try this.

American settlers were doing this as well in the late 1700's more than 100 YEARS BEFORE the Italians would claim to make the first pizza.

Go ahead Google it.

Tomatoes originated from the Andes, in what is now called Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Ecuador - where they grew wild. They were first cultivated by the Aztecs and Incas as early as 700 AD.
As far as we know, the first tomatoes to make it to Europe were brought by the Spanish Conquistadors from South America (Peru, specifically) in the early to mid-sixteenth century. The fruit was called “tomatl.” The first written account of a tomato in Italy dates to 1548 and it was in Tuscany.
