Do I have to actually provide the membership with a LINK to say....the NRA or perhaps the manufacturer of the AR-15 that details out WHY it is damaging to the AR-15's rifle barrel if it is a .223 when firing .556 NATO Rounds through it????

The higher pressure comes from the shorter chamber in your 223 when you jam the longer heavier 5.56 in it. It's got no place to go at that very first part of the BANG so it has to make room usually resulting in damage. It has nothing to do with how hot the load is but the "oal" instead.

Anyone here can run a search using the key words...."Why firing a .556 NATO round through a .223 AR-15 rifle barrel damages it."

The result will be a large number of LINKS that detail out how the .556 NATO Round will damage the .223 AR-15 Barrel.
