Daily supplementation is preferable to large intermittent doses. And again, a GP may just be giving you D2 instead of D3, so ignorant they are of nutrition.

I didn't say that a very large dose doesn't "work." I said that daily supplementation is preferable ... because it is more effective. Also, large intermittent doses increase the risk of falls and fractures.

I wonder why GPs suddenly started checking for Vit D deficiency? In AUSTRALIA where we have DST. I can imagine people in Scotland having a Vit D deficiency but here?

Why they started getting all officious about our cholesterol levels 20+ years ago too. I paid for a scan on that ($200 no Medicare rebate) and it came back as ZERO.

At the moment they are on your "thyroid" level .... meanwhile, they are missing the more important stuff.

I blame the Pharmaceutical Sales Persons ....... my GP tells me that some antibiotic is "like" the one I usually have ... it is NOT and, as I said, I was allergic to one "doxycycline" and I had to Google it .... my GP didn't have a clue. Change GPS? That's an option, but ..... I like him and he really should have retired years ago (according to the local Chemists). LOL
