ISLAMIC SCHOOL IN CANBERRA HAS FUNDING REVOKED.

The Islamic School of Canberra will appeal the federal government's decision to revoke its funding after a long-running investigation into its independence, governance and financial management.

Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham announced on Friday that the $1 million provided by the federal government each year, covering about 80 per cent of the Weston school's operational costs, would cease on July 1.

Since Schools are funded by the State/Territory, I have no idea whether our GALP Government is funding this school, I presume they are .... the actual School is having a whine about the Commonwealth Government revoking their funding.

I didn't think there were enough Muslim children in Canberra to warrant an Islamic School for them. Don't schools need a certain number of pupils to be even called "a school"?
