Only a plebiscite will give any decision on this radical change to society, its traditions and its mores credibility.

Not that I care, but I also think that ALL AUSTRALIANS should be able to vote for their opinion on this. I think everyone is sick of it anyway, so it will be passed but ......... leaving it to Pollies to make a decision is NOT on. They are a useless bunch and not one of them deserves the status of MP, including the current PM.

Even some "regular" couples don't bother getting married these days. Couples are covered by Legislation ... all are equal, whether married or not, or male and female, male and male or female and female. It is THE LAW in Australia.

Everyone deserves to have an opinion on it. Even most gays want to have their say and not necessarily in the affirmative.

I don't trust anyone in Parliament to speak on my behalf on either side of the floor.

and almost everyone does have an opinion on it, nevertheess, that's no reason to waste millions on a glorified non binding opinion poll that many MP's have said they'll ignore anyway. We already pay politicians to make these decisions, thats enough money wasted on it. Give poli's a conscience vote, and people truly opposed will petition their local MP. If enough oppose it, it won't pass anyway. It'd save us a fortune.

Plebiscites are created just for these purposes. To give people a say on issues like this that affect our society as a whole. To give politicians a real idea of what the Australian people think.
You don't penny pinch on issues like that, we are supposed to be a democracy.
Why do you think Labor are against a pleb... because they want the "glory" as Shorten says.
Why do you think gay activists are against a vote by the people, they know they are in the minority, they fear they will lose the vote and democracy will win out.
