All Doctors need the internet, not necessarily NBN. They need to look up recent studies and new side effects to medications before prescribing them for a start.

Of course they do. That is obvious if they want to keep up with the latest medical stuff.Black Orchid wrote:All Doctors need the internet, not necessarily NBN. They need to look up recent studies and new side effects to medications before prescribing them for a start.
I have found the the various Specialists that I have seen over the last several years, ALL send a copy of their "report" to my GP via the Internet. Then they send a "hard copy" to myself and the GP as well. When you have an x-ray, you no longer get a copy to take to your GP/Specialist .... it is sent via the Internet.
My last x-ray (after a hospital admission) was sent to a Respiratory Specialist and he gave me 5 minutes of his time and said he hadn't "checked his computer" for my x-ray. He recommended that I give up smoking ... which I had ALREADY done 10 years previously. He insinuated that I was still "sneaking a smoke". I have NOT even looked at a cigarette in 10 years. Arsehole. Pissed me off. I asked whether he wanted to see me again. He said No. I said "GOOD, I don't want to see you either" and walked out ...
When I have had a Referral to a Specialist, my GP has printed out a copy from his computer, that I can take with me on the first appointment (in a sealed envelope). The Specialist then scans that and the last time,he handed me back the original. Upon checking what my GP lists as my "medical conditions", I found the word lumbago (and a couple of other idiocies) and had to check online what lumbago was .... I do NOT have a "lower back pain" and never have. I did ask my GP "when did I get lumbago" .... I am not sure whether he types everything into his computer or what but "somebody" made an error.
Doctors are NOT God and most of them are proficient in what they do ... I really like my GP but he is sort getting towards the age when he should retire .... he gave me a bunch of prescriptions recently and there was an item there that I have never heard of ... plus he didn't mention this. I shall ask the Pharmacist, eventually.
Ah well. Life goes On.

Some Drs do think they're god.
I like my Dr he is Scottish and calls a spade a spade, but he does think he is a genius. He is funny and he swears like a Warfie and on my last visit he asked me if I had had a prostrate check ( I thought you're my Dr you should know) anyway I said no. He went on to write me out a form for blood tests as he gives me yearly blood test checkups, and I sat there sweating that he was going to give me a digital check for prostate problems.
Anyway he handed me the blood test form and I said " aren't you going to do a prostate check on me?"
He said " it's on the blood tests, I'm not going to stick my fucking finger up your bum".
I walked out of his office feeling much less stressed.

STOP being so pretentious about your prostate! It is the ONLY way a doctor can check it. It could save your Life. You do want to see your son grow up and get married and have his own kids, don't you?skippy wrote:Some Drs do think they're god.

I have a friend who had "the test" and was sent to a Specialist ... cancer. He had his prostate/gland/organ removed. He is fine 5 years later.
PS .. try sticking your own finger up your arse (as you would if inserting a depository) is all it is. STOP considering anything a Dr does as "sexual". Geeze.
