Yeouch. No real danger of the toads persisting there, thankfully.

Why's that? Environment?boxy wrote:Yeouch. No real danger of the toads persisting there, thankfully.
They seem to adapt, thrive and spread in many localities but I'm not familiar with the species or their limitations.

Probably too cold for them to survive long term there.IQS.RLOW wrote:Why's that? Environment?boxy wrote:Yeouch. No real danger of the toads persisting there, thankfully.

Yeah, they're a tropical species. They may make it to Sydney, or the south coast, perhaps. But they wouldn't last long in snow country, and certainly not breed.

It is very obvious that NOBODY tuned in to my extremely subtle (dry humour) dig at a certain Queenslander.
BTW the cane toad was DEAD when found ... no way would could reproduce.

That was supposed to be a dig at someone? Subtle doesn't even start to cover that effort

I read about Fire Ants in Australia now. They first jumped ship in 1930's in the USA and now are simply part of the landscape. Australia has a chance America never had and should spare no expense to rid the country of them.
