We got here just too late to see farthings tho a lot of lollies in da tuckshop were 8 for a ha'penny.

Man, I used to have a sweet scam going in grade 7. I would collect a shilling for busfare from Mum, then sneak my bike out and pedal to school and back! fuck you could live like a fucking king in '59 from 1/- Roll (double cut!) thruppence ha'penny, then a bottle of Coke was five pence but you got 3p back on returning the empty bottle. Icecream tuppence ha'penny then a HUGE fucking sack of lollies.

That lasted most of a year, then my fucking sister dobbed me in! Bitch! Then I was pedalling all that distance for no money!

My dear young gurl, before this benighted decimal junk we had real money! Guineas, pounds, shillings and pence. And ha'pennies (half a penny, no not half a coin just half as valuable as a penny and, hurrmmphhh, I didn't see them, but farthings, 1/4 penny!

I do love a good all malt beer. But I'm on a low carb eating regime ATM. I used to be pretty athletic until a few years ago. Then I had an operation that left me with an open wound for about a year, plus other demands, never really got back into the stuff I had been doing for nearly 20 years - one day I looked in the mirror and realised I was pregnant I'm not quite a candidate for The biggest loser but I could stand to lose a few pounds, thats for sure.

Excercising until dry-retching no longer seems to have the same effect it used to, so my fluid intake is presently vodka and diet soft-drink (yeah I know, phenylketenurics and stuff). I have one "blow out" day a week where the blonde, amber, brown or black liquid goes down in significant quantities, usually a weekend, family BBQ or something.

Might go see Macka at the local brew shop about a water purifier

I am gradually working my way thru a list of the most popular cocktails..my last try was a vodka martini..its ok but I am perfecting my own mix..
I like beer when its very hot .

On a wild weekend once we mixed a "cheeky" little brew, a fruit juice,white wine, vodka, blend ..add in a hot weekend by the beach,it was not the best idea we ever had.

When the Big Day Out is on I get a few young sheilas coming to my shop during the week before. They are there for brand new PET bottle caps, complete with intact security ring.

They then buy homebrand soft drink, take the cap off, cut the security ring, pour out some or all of the crap in the bottle and replace with booze and put my new cap on. They then show the security guard at the gate "Look, no tampering, security seal intact!" The odd guy does this to sneak booze into the cricket.

No wonder some of these sheilas end up at the Red Cross station dehydrated!
