Good! Cop this 20% import tax on all your goods coming into the US.
That will cover the cost of the wall
Yeah but imagine the cost to the consumer. Mexico is the US 3rd largest trading partner. What's to stop Mexico from putting a Tariff on US goods to offset the 20%?
Trump is a moron if he thinks this will make Mexico pay for the wall.
Mexico needs the US far more than the US needs Mexico.
There are plenty of American businesses that have shifted their manufacturing to Mexico over the years and this move will turn their business decisions for doing so on their head. There will be massive corporate pressure now on the Mexicon government to negotiate.

WASHINGTON — The United States directs an average of $320 million worth of aid a year to Mexico for various programs, all of which appear to be targets for President Trump as he looks for ways to pay for the proposed border wall with our southern neighbor.
But specialists say the aid won’t make for much of a bargaining chip as he tries to goad Mexico into footing the bill for the wall, and in fact, yanking the aid could backfire entirely.
Trump directed the government Wednesday to total the amount of "direct and indirect Federal aid or assistance to the Government of Mexico on an annual basis" in an executive order. That preceded a series of back-and-forth moves Thursday in which Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto said his country would not pay for the wall and canceled a planned meeting with Trump next week. Then the Trump administration said it would hit Mexican imports with a 20% border tax, and then reversed field to say the planned tax was just an option.

At last, a political leader showing true guts and leadership!. This type of Leadership is sorely needed in Australia, where politicians of all ilk have bowed, scrapped, grovelled and genuflected towards third world countries we so generously give taxpayer's money to in foreign aid. Millions and Millions of dollars go to third rate countries like Indonesia that shoot our people, blow them up in nightclubs, carry out entrapment exercises purely for corrupt purposes and treat Australians with contempt and disdain. All our weak kneed politicians can do is offer more aid to keep the peace. Get over here Trump and sort these lily livered pollies out - let places like Indonesia forfeit our hard earned dollars and lie in their own crapulence

Mexico will ultimately lose because no consumer will want to go near an imported Mexican product that's so expensive....esp when they are faced with heaps of other cheaper alternative products.

Trump isn't a "career politician", he's a businessman. That's the difference. Instead of dilly dallying around, he is getting on with it. Good. Some people won't like it, too bad.
Pity we didn't have somebody in Australia like that. Wishy Washy Turncoat is still fart arsing around. He's only been a pollie since about 2004, but he sure caught on quickly.

Yep.
The other difference is that Trump doesn't give a shit/isn't phased by anything.

United States President Donald Trump has sacked acting Attorney-General Sally Yates, accusing her of "betraying the Department of Justice" after she directed her attorneys not to defend his controversial executive refugee and immigration ban.
Ms Yates had said she was not convinced Mr Trump's travel ban was lawful.

Good. He IS the POTUS ...
Why do people who are born in Australia want to have dual Citizenship with Iran and other ME countries? Why do people want dual citizenship anyway? That includes the British. Make your bloody mind up. If you migrated to Australia for a "better life" ... forget the old one. Ditto for those in the USA. IF I recall, you couldn't have a dual citizenship in the USA. Wonder who changed that?

All of us are 1st Gen/2nd Gen Aussies in our family/extended family.
Nobody has dual citizenship.
Why?
We can't see the need.
Perhaps we've overlooked something?
