Re: President Donald J Trump
Trump and the Big Fella from Mexico have cancelled next week's meeting. Trump is going to place a 20% import tax on mexico to help fund his wall. This will have far reaching impact on both Mexico and the USA so I hope all aspects of this have been considered. A "Brave Move" indeed. At least Trump is not running around yelling "Stop The Boats" or should that be "Stop the Tonks" So far, I am mildly impressed and I wonder if he will be using Mexican Labour to build it.

Trump is apparently going to reverse the negative effects of globalization on the US.
How?
Eg Manufacturing sector
US car manufacturing companies who move their operations offshore are going to be hit with a heavy penalty tax.
Bottom line? Car manufacturing stays in the US thus car manufacturing jobs stay in the US.
I don't know that he'll succeed.

Three out of every four Japanese cars and trucks sold in the U.S. are built in North America anyway.

He will. Car manufacture is mostly automated and the cost of robotic assembly and factory fitout even throughout the world.lisa jones wrote:Trump is apparently going to reverse the negative effects of globalization on the US.

The US are the largest market for cars and he has already convinced a host of automotive CEOs that Trump's America will be kinder for American business than Obama's "You didn't build that" socialist state. This in turn will keep businesses, tax and employees in the US.
The wailing and gnashing of teeth from the lefties has only just begun. Their whining will become more shrill as they realise they are vanishing into obscurity because none of their rhetoric is true and they will be exposed for what they really are, Marxist/Stalinist who only care about their ideology and trying to collapse society.
They are currently in their "anger" phase after being through "denial" before and during the election.
Next will come bargaining, but with Trump having the presidency and repubs holding both houses (and likely to cleanup in the midterms) they have nothing to bargain with.
Which means the next stage, "depression" will be a doozy. Invest in anti-depressant companies, suicide watch programs and building nets for the snowflake jumpers who can't handle all this winning.
Finally, there will be "acceptance" where the screaming babies will retreat to the corner to mew and whimper through a pacifier while the real people of the world go onwards and upwards.

And I hope Australia takes a leaf out of his book!
We manufacture bugger all nowadays.....and it's been to the detriment of our economy.

Ha! Mexico won't come to the party re the Wall.
Trump's response?
Good! Cop this 20% import tax on all your goods coming into the US.
That will cover the cost of the wall

Yeah but imagine the cost to the consumer. Mexico is the US 3rd largest trading partner. What's to stop Mexico from putting a Tariff on US goods to offset the 20%?lisa jones wrote:Ha! Mexico won't come to the party re the Wall.

Trump is a moron if he thinks this will make Mexico pay for the wall.
