Did you have a great Australia Day?
We sure did.....down the coast with my sisters/brothers along with our spouses and kids.
We negotiated $650 a night for 3 nights (was $700) for a 4 bedroom home opposite the beach.
Lots of fun, lots of everything....bbq every day.
What an awesome opportunity for us to get together and reflect on things. Like the recent loss of Mum....and the fact that our parents did the best thing ever by migrating to Australia back in the 60's.
As teenagers, they lacked skills, they did not know a word of English....and arrived here frightened and vulnerable. But they loved Australia because the country offered them hope and opportunity to better themselves.
And they did. They got on with life and never whinged. Working 2 jobs each....they bought up 4 homes within 10 years.
They say attitude is everything. And I believe it's true. My parents had an attitude of gratitude.
As 1st Gen Aussies....we're thankful for everything they did for us....and for teaching us to be grateful for being Australian.
Australia is the best country in the world!
PS. OK I fess... so we did fight a bit lol....but that's what all families do!

Too bad that you are a day late for Ozzie's Meeting of the Taxi lot in Brisbane. You may have been able to spy him ... he's the one with the chunky gold signet ring.IQS.RLOW wrote:I'm in Brisbane so I missed watching a QLDer die in my home state.

I made sure my wife was only to catch Uber while here.Neferti~ wrote:Too bad that you are a day late for Ozzie's Meeting of the Taxi lot in Brisbane. Have to think of her safety. Wouldn't want her getting in a cab where the driver thinks it's ok to deck women.

Very wise of you. He stated over yonder that he was "driving today" too ... Taxi drivers with chunky gold signet rings would be few and far between I imagine.IQS.RLOW wrote:I made sure my wife was only to catch Uber while here.Neferti~ wrote:Too bad that you are a day late for Ozzie's Meeting of the Taxi lot in Brisbane.
