Andy Murray out of Aus open. May never win Aus Open

Andy Murray was beaten by Mischa Zverev.

He has been runner up 4 times in Aus open and this year he will be 30 years old.

It's unlikely he will ever win the Australian Open or the French Open for that matter.

I agree. never liked the guy and while I do admire his persistence, I think he is on his way down and out.

it was a terrific battle thats for sure....I am wondering if the heat has had some effect this time it must be hell on those courts....djokovic gone...Tomic gone..... not all can cope with the heat....anyway n ew blood coming....and well done... at least they dont give up...

He was ranked No1 at the end of 2016

Tomic has never got beyond the fourth round of the Australian open and is currently slipping in the rankings.

No player appears to have been heat affected. Alexander Zverev suffered cramp and looked like he would have beaten Nadal if not suffering cramp.

Kyrgios is psycho.
Tomic is unfit.
Its an interesting year for the Open, the finals are very open as to who might get in.

A falling tide lowers all boats.

I don't believe Murray is in the ascendency phase of his career.

Murray peaked at the same time as Djokovic and Wawrinka with Federer and Nadal suffering injury and form decline.

A career grand slam is out of the question for Murray now. He doesn't look as fast and energetic as he was in the Aus Open of 2015 which he lost to Djokovic. He didn't look good in 2016.
