A SYDNEY mother will face court after she allegedly left her four children under ten years old locked in a car in searing heat as she went shopping.
A witness called police after noticing the four children, aged six, seven, eight and nine, in the vehicle in a Bankstown car park on Canterbury Road Wednesday afternoon at 3pm.
Police say the children were distressed but uninjured. Their 44-year-old mother will face court next month.
It’s understood the woman had driven the car away before police arrived, but she later attended the police station, where she was issued a court notice for leaving children in a vehicle causing emotional distress.
Temperatures in parts of western Sydney topped 40C on Wednesday, with temperatures set to be punishingly hot again this weekend.

Anyone who locks their children in a vehicle and goes shopping or gambling should have the children taken away but anyone who locks children in a car in 40C heat should be jailed. No ands ifs or buts.
Throw away the key. That's 4 counts of attempted murder.

Looks like she has been busy having children, kids aged 6,7,8 and 9 .... I wonder if they have the same father? Stupid woman, I'd recommend gaol for her too. Some people are idiots.

HIS mum timed it: 21 seconds. That was all it took for Wendy Atkinson’s two-year-old toddler Brodie to scale the pool fence at their family home, undo the latch and, grinning wildly, swing into the pool area on the open gate.
The first time Ms Atkinson saw her son perform the feat, she read him the riot act.
But after a recent spate of drownings, Ms Atkinson decided to film it to warn other parents just how vigilant they need to be near water
this reminded me of watching two of my grandsons when they were about the same age they would climb the door frame like a monkey right to the top...no effort at all..... so even with a fence you cannot afford to relax...
