Id love to go in that Neffy. The more I knew, the more fun it would certainly be. I know, Ive tried it with no skill at all, and it was fun.

But I had a close call at Surfers one time.

You need the skill and knowledge. There are only two ways to get that.

Today, Id still go in, but I would go near experts there if I wanted to 'play', otherwise I would keep to waist level.

The fitter, the better, and more likely to survive the fun.

So you would only go in near "experts" because they would have to risk their lives to save you if you got in trouble? That's a very selfish attitude to have.

isnt that what the lifesavers tell us to do BO?.. like swim between the flags we have more chance of seeing you...

look how many foreigners are saved year in year out at Bondi most cant swim.. or at least swim in a surf....

people get into trouble even in shallow waters.

There we no flags in this area because no-one was supposed to swim there period. He was saying he would go into that rough surf.

Can't blame people for wanting to swim on a hot day or even enjoy a bit of rough water, but yes realising your skills, fitness or lack of is worth considering.

Spoze I'm lucky to have the confidence, having been a competitive endurance swimmer (who tested how far I could swim underwater after each training session) and recreational surfer, but ...

... haven't you ever wanted to ride a canoe down rapids, jump off a cliff or bridge into water or fly an ultra-light? (no licence required) ...

... I guess until you've ridden the 15ft faces of 12ft cyclone swells, fought venomous snakes with a machete or can of fly spray, or walked through a bushfire to get a pig you'll never get it.

If I need to feel safe and secure I'll call my Nanny and ask her to bring my Teddy bear.
With any luck she'll spank me for being a naughty boy.

If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl is fighting for life after being pulled out of a Western Sydney pool, while a man was missing in a Snowy Mountains lake — continuing a horror festive season for drownings in NSW.

Already 14 people have drowned in a horror festive season for drownings across the state.

The girl was found lifeless in the pool just after 6pm Sunday at the home in Atchison Rd, Macquarie Fields.

Paramedics carried out CPR at the scene before taking her to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

One neighbour said: “We seen a person laying on the grass out the front and then all the police came and they were everywhere. It’s shocking this has happened, it is so sad.”

Another neighbour said there had been a party at the home on New Year’s Eve.

I just dont think there is anything left to say about this....

14 dead in as many days......its always been hot in AUstralia....we expect it....cant we look after children near water anymore.????

and another one..

A TWO-year-old boy has been pulled from a backyard pool in Fairfield West, with emergency services now on the scene.

Emergency services were called to McGee Pl, Fairfield West at 10.20am. They said the two-year-old had just been pulled from the pool a short time ago.

Paramedics commenced CPR on the little boy but his condition is unknown.

The incident follows a drowning in Macquarie Fields that saw a two-year-old girl die after being pulled lifeless from a backyard pool.

The girl was found just after 6pm at the house in Atchison Rd. Desperate paramedics performed CPR at the scene to try to revive her before taking her to Liverpool Hospital, where she was pronounced dead late last night.

I feel sick when I hear about babies and toddlers being reversed over by their parent's 4WD. This mother was at a funeral and maybe she was upset at the time, but who leaves a 7 month old in a pram unattended in an unsafe area?
A Queensland woman who accidentally ran over her infant son at a funeral south of Brisbane has spoken out about the grief their family is going through.

Seven-month-old Darcy Thompson was in a pram hit by a car driven by his mother Danielle as she was reversing on St Pauls Drive, Woodridge, just before 2pm on Friday afternoon.
