While a lawyer in Britain he exposed MI5 blunders and became known as the "Spy catcher", for which he was no longer welcome in Britain.
*Turnbull made his millions as an investment banker for Goldman Sachs.*
And as a banker he had (and still has a 'water privatisation' agenda) which most people except some National party members have forgotten.
His first foray into politics was to hijack the Australian Republic referendum. He got the movement to change the proposal for a popularly elected President (like USA & France) to that of an MPs elected President. And so many pro republic voters (like myself) voted "No" to Malcolm's "politicians' republic".
It is my conspiracy nutter belief that Turnbull jumped on the republic bandwagon for an opportunity to alter the Australian Constitution. In particular, Section 100 in chapter 4, under finance and trade.
Which categorically stipulates the Commonwealth cannot interfere with the rivers, they are owned by the states.
Turnbull's second foray into politics was to get the Libs to dump a sitting MP in a safe seat so Turnbull could usurp him, with the sole intention of becoming Prime Minister (with John Howard's blessing) for another opportunity to alter the Australian Constitution in favour of Water Privatisation.
In opposition with John Howard he was given a pseudo-portfolio of "Office of Water Policy", which was later renamed to I forget what. He was elected Lib party leader and then got tossed in favour of Tony Abbot who won in landslide election. Abbots verbal gaffs (his actions proved correct) got him ditched in favour of Malcolm doing a Lazarus.
Turnbull promised to fix our national debt situation, and has failed to do so, which reflects poorly on someone with banking/financial expertise. Apologist pundits claim he is being pragmatic in the face of
public opposition and senate obstructionism to fiscal policy. But the cynic within me suspects he has no intention of redeeming our economic malaise, because to do so would abrogate our need to sell our essential resources and infrastructure to foreign interests (investment banks) and no resource is more essential that water.
As for the Alder shotgun ... well everyone should have a lever action shotgun
