I dont think it will ever succeed long term while it is based around one person that 90% of the population would never vote for!

People are disgruntled with unemployment etc but Hanson wont solve that.

She attracts some with her simple rhetoric of bashing muslims, abos, the dole bludgers etc but that totally turns just as many off her and her party.

They may do well as last time in QLD but will be one term wonders as they gradually fall apart during that term!

Well for starters Hanson won't be around forever.
Secondly you should be voting for policies not personalities. (I know Progs have difficulties there, everything is personal)
Thirdly many PHON policies have been adopted by both major parties, usually after poo-pooing them.
Some parties like the now defunct Democrats actually had very similar policies.

Oh and even if she gets 10% of the vote... as you said... she is still supported by a great many people because the majors these days get less than 30%.

She may survive a couple of terms as she has a personal following and is in the senate which only requires a small % of the voters from the whole state to get elected. Whether her second and third choices get elected is another matter and whether her people get voted in in other states next time will depend a lot on the next three years

Not sure what progs have to do with voting for Pauline as they do vote for policies but not hers and wouldnt vote for her in a fit!

I think the ones that are voting for her are largely bogans falling for her simplistic bashing of muslims, gays, asians, dole bludgers and stupid protectionist nonsense .

Yes you are correct, they will try and take over any policies that they can live with as did Howard when he moved in on her policies last time. The Libs are already moving on that 18c (which I dont mind) and dole bashing suits them as well but I am not sure what else.

RN, your presumptions are predicated on Ozzies sticking with the status quo, but as I've been pointing out over the last 2 years, the entire Western world bar Austria, Greece and Canada have moved to the right, and I expect the 3 who haven't to do so after 1 term of lefty social authoritarianism and economic failure.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

Well no sign of me disagreeing there... is there.

Like I said thanks for proving my point... no prog you included with have any idea what her policies are or have been.

I think the ones that are voting for her are largely bogans falling for her simplistic bashing of muslims, gays, asians, dole bludgers and stupid protectionist nonsense .

Ah yes prog elitism... yet another state of cluelessness. Don't let the Unions hear you saying this stuff out loud...
:rofl

Oh dear.... BOTH major parties have adopted her policies over the years Red... BOTH even NZ adopted her policy re the peoples bank and Costello laughed at it as unworkable as did labor... BTW It works just fine in NZ
Hanson is right about Multiculturalism when both major parties support it, Hanson is right about selling off the farm where both major parties allow it, Hanson is right about losing skills and training for our future where both major parties support 457s to undermine our future. Both major parties are myopic re infrastructure especially when it comes to the most arid populated country on Earth... The list goes on and on.
