can we say a Prayer for
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/n ... 2cf5b81b29
These Babies.
ONE minute twin toddlers were eating ice-cream on the deck, the next they were being pulled limp and lifeless from the family pool — their mother screaming for help.
Charli and Robbi Manago were both in a critical condition on life support at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead last night in the third tragic backyard pool accident in Sydney this month alone.
Police said it was unclear how the 23-month-olds got into the pool at the family’s Kellyville Ridge home.
this is so cruel ..
God Please Bless these babies
and please return them to full health..

Re: can we say a Prayer for
I think a lot of people would be praying for them Cods.
I still get angry when I hear of toddlers drowning in pools, being reversed over in driveways and being left alone in cars to boil to death. When will people ever learn that you don't take your eyes off toddlers. If you have to go inside for something or do a bit of shopping and you get distracted - regardless of the hassle it is to take your children with you - you may live to regret that you didn't. It only takes a couple of minutes for a devastating accident to happen.

A very sad thing to happen. They say the pool fence was regulation but the kids got in there somehow.
When will people learn? If you have a pool and toddlers around you NEVER, not for one instant, EVER take your eyes off them when they are outside.

You would have to suspect it wasn't locked properly, as I couldn't imagine them pushing a chair up to the fence and climbing over at that age!
Sad though!

Oh dear. I do hope that they come through. Kids of that age are like greased lightening .... one second they are there, then they are gone .... faster than a speeding bullet, etc. It's not just swimming pools, even if they are fenced, these little darlings can climb anything and fear nothing! One child of that age is bad enough, twins = double trouble.

awful things happen... and the more we hear of them the more seems to happen....my daughters mother in law had a baby drown in a pool next door to her....some who live in Canberra would have heard of it....it was quite recent, what astounded us was. [ and I did see it] the fence was basically non existent what little they did have was all falling down.. and there were about 25-30 people in the house at the time....
at the end of the day I dont believe the gate was locked...or safe.. children can shake a gate loose....

This is very sad. We made a decision when we had our daughter that we would not have a pool. When we came to Dubai we had a pool, no fence but by then she had swimming lessons since she was 6 months old. Yes 2 months, those baby swimming classes where you put them under water and they hold their breath. She could swim. When she was out in the pool we were always outside there with her.
Too many cases of this, very sad.

Everyone blames the parent/s for not keeping an eye on them. Anyone who has had children knows how fast toddlers are .... look away for ONE second and they are gone.
It would be devastating to lose a child by drowning in The Pool, even though you have an "approved by Council" fence. Kids can climb, open cupboards and drink "drain cleaner" (How can that happen? that recently killed some little kid).
Then, you think you got them through and suddenly they are TEENAGERS ... more frustration and worry.
I heard today about a friend of a friend's son who was 27 and ran in front of a truck .... the truck had one of those things they stick on the dashboard to record everything. WHY?
I probably should not push the envelope but I have been very fortunate that most people I have loved and lost have died from either Old Age or Cancer .... a couple of accidental (vehicle) deaths of cousins, thus far no overdoses, suicides ..... or jumping in front of a truck/train!
To those with very sick family members at this time of year, I am thinking of you. I remember my Father's last Christmas.
