Maybe the musso husband should be made pay maintenance for the brats of the second tart wife! (out of his dole...heaven forbid)Black Orchid wrote:It may cost more initially but it needs to be stopped. Maybe then these rorters may find some other country to sponge off.
I would also like to know what percentage are on DSP. Go Pauline!

I don't see why that is a bad idea? They should pay themselves.Neferti~ wrote:You really have, absolutely, NO IDEA, do you?Redneck wrote:

Deport them and stop pandering to them. They should be made to sign a document outlining clearly that if they break our laws they will be shown the door. Half a dozen wives with half a dozen kids each should not be supported in any way.

Scoff, if you want, Redneck, but have you, or anybody you know, has had to pay "maintenance" for their kids?Neferti~ wrote:You really have, absolutely, NO IDEA, do you?Redneck wrote:

Although it is a LEGAL obligation, most fathers try to avoid it, even when they have a decent, well paying, job.
Can you imagine the Child Support Agency actually following up and tracking down a parent who is a Muslim, has several wives, many kids and is on WELFARE?
Won't happen.
My former husband paid "child maintenance" on a Court Order and organised a Bank Transfer ... that went into my "special" Bank account for 10 years, then, suddenly the payments ceased. I rang the Bank to enquire and they just said "not enough funds" ... so I let it go.
However, he (the former husband) thought that when my daughter reached 16, he no longer needed to pay. I rang the CSR and was told that "they" would recover the several thousand dollars he had "avoided" even after he died.
What bloody nonsense. I wasn't desperate for his $140 a month ...
To cut a long story short. I got a call from some person from the Debt Recovery Service (whatever name) who was looking for my former husband because he had reneged on several payments for a credit card purchase of a computer and had "disappeared". I had a bit of a giggle and said "I divorced him in 1981, but IF you find him, tell him that he owes me $3,000+ for "child support".
Several days later I got a letter in the mail referring me to a site where the former husband had some Superannuation that was "unclaimed". I called CSR and ...
Case closed!

Then again he had a lot to put up with I suspect,

IF you had followed what I have divulged, over the decade, you would realise that I have absolutely NO animosity for my former husband, who died in 2006.Redneck wrote: Sorry dear i am not like your apparent ex husband!

I was very young when I married him. He was a lot older than I was. He began with "verbal abuse" (your are like your mother) and started to tell me how I should dress, do my hair, makeup and so forth.
Eventually, I stood up to him and that is when the domestic violence began ... a "backhander" across the face ...
It all worked out in the end ... and I was BRAVE enough to leave SYDNEY and settle in CANBERRA ...
Otherwise, I could have retaliated with a carving knife .... I walked instead ... lucky that I did.
I was his second wife and some years ago I corresponded with his first .... same problems ....
MOD ...can you move this elsewhere, please it has gone way off TOPIC. Sorry. Nef.
