it just wears me out but I have no trouble breathing wise...
I am fine, Cods, the weather doesn't bother me, I have air conditioning (and Foxtel to keep me amused  ). In Winter I leave the Daikin (reverse cycle) on 24/7. :thumb

I had some tests done in Deakin last year, including the "6 minute walk test". Normal healthy adults can get between 400m and 700m. I got 550m. It is walking up and down a passage, so flat surface, so I "did good".

I have no problems walking up stairs but hills/slopes ... nope ... apparently something to do with the muscles in your upper chest, whereas walking up stairs is using the leg muscles. :roll

I find that I can't rush around as much as I used to, or lift stuff (another thing using the arms, chest muscles) also I no longer hang clothes on the line, I use the dryer. Can't do gardening for more than about 10 minutes so have given up on that. Have had someone mow the grass for a decade or more and he used to do the gardening too but he retired to Lake Macquarie and now all I have is a bloke who cuts the grass ... doesn't do gardening. Ah well.

However, I AM retired, so sitting on my bum, watching stuff on Foxtel suits me. What about you, Cods?

PS. I have to be very careful about "the flu" ... I get the flu jab every March but I still have to worry about people coughing/sneezing near me ... I did end up in Calvary Hospital last year, for 5 days due to a chest infection that was "almost" pneumonia ... Ambulance and all ... no Golden staff. :rofl

its not the greatest when you are restricted by your body parts falling apart...I know all too well..my breathing is restricted because of the heart something about a leak they cant do anything for..so you are in better shape than me.. I can only walk about 15 paces before stopping I am fine with a walker or shopping trolley.I guess ,like me you have a disabled parking ticket... so it does have its side benefits..lolol..

and of course I know about the gardening....this place is almost all pavers and pebbles..but it doesnt stop the weeds..and I seem to corner the market on weeds..every once in a while the family come and do a clean up..they are good like that..I have no lawn thank god.... if abit more body parts stop working that might be the finish.... how do you go with just standing?.. I cant seem to stand for any length of time..got a funeral to go to next week...if they start looking me up and down as I walk in... they may get the big finger...

good luck to you with Fox.. I dont have that probably just as well...I sit on my bum far too long as it is...yes also have the flu jab. vit B jabs the bone jab.;plus blood tests a regular pin cushion....I dont tell the family half of what I get done...I am sure I cost the govt a fortune...not because I want too..

I still have all my body parts, the lungs are damaged due to smoking, even though I gave it up years ago. At least it isn't lung cancer! The disabled parking thing is useful.

My Mother was a gardener so I learned from her .... lots of shrubs, bulbs and so forth. Some how I got that wretched "couch grass" and, despite the lungs, I sprayed it with whatever it is called and that got rid of it ... for the time being but now I have that other annoying stuff called periwinkle. Spraying it won't get rid of it ... it'll just kill whatever is near it.

I never watched much TV until I got Foxtel. ABC and Commercial TV bore me to tears. I used to spend a lot of time playing Adventure Games .. I am a Member here, but not as Neferti ... http://www.gameboomers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php Mostly American. However I met a nice lady from the Gold Coast (Qld) and we have been writing almost daily for about 10 years now.

The ONLY jab I get is the annual Flu shot. I take Coversyl 2.5 and Lipitor and also use Lumigan for they eyes. Apart from that and not being able to run around the block ... I am fine.

I think I have them all.. my sons partner and I share them she is as bad as me,..I am watching the OJ show on SBS.. such a hollow human being...at least hes in jail..my heart goes out to the kids of these mongrels.... .. I also have two grandson that spend a bit of time with me...and probably more time during the school holidays..

Update :

I'm using ginger in my tea. Lots of it.

Actually....I love eating the stuff as is. (I just wash and lightly peel the ginger skin and start biting into it).

It burns your throat out a tad but boy it leaves you with lovely fresh breath.

Am now on antibiotics too....and USING my asthma puffer.

Result? I've turned the corner. Fever is GONE!

I feel like a dill for not doing all this earlier----> my ribs are still very sore from all that wretched coughing. My doctor told me off for not coming in to see him earlier.

Thanks all for your help.

I now need to be careful I don't suffer a relapse. The weather here is going to change drastically so I need to be careful.

Nef....I'm thinking of you right now. ♡
