Not a bad pay day. 10 mil for a rock and never had to put out. Smart girl. He is lucky he got away.IQS.RLOW wrote:Packers not stupid. He would have seen her coming a mile away.
I'd say she saw the pre-nup and felt that her prostitution services weren't what she thought they were.

I'd say that her not putting out is just publicist spin and I would guarantee the "rock" is not hers to keep.

I read that the norms of such a situation is that it depends on who pulls out. he pulled out so he broken the agreement to marry so she gets to keep it. What a cost. 100's of Thousands on flowers and spending plus 10M for the rock. Lucky he is rich enough.IQS.RLOW wrote:I'd say that her not putting out is just publicist spin and I would guarantee the "rock" is not hers to keep.
Hell, for a 10m rock I'll date him if I don't have to put out.

Re: Packer dodged a bullet
People like Packer dont get rich by handing over $10M for nothing. He would have a team of top lawyers to make sure his interests are looked after. It makes good fodder for tabloids but is rarely the case in real life for people in Packers league.
I would even hazard a guess that her payout would have been not much more than the ability to sell herself on the talk show circuit with the proviso that she doesn't disparage Packer...which seems to be the case.

I don't like Carey much, but she suffered quite a bit of humiliation from Packer. I thought they suited each other, but she was probably too outgoing for him. It seemed like she genuinely cared for him. He used her as much as she used him.

NOBODY (us the public) knows who James Packer is .... he certainly doesn't do it for me ... plus MONEY isn't everything.mantra wrote:I don't like Carey much, but she suffered quite a bit of humiliation from Packer. Mariah Carey's singing is more caterwauling than singing.

Whether you like her or not she did have a pretty good voice and vocal range.

I thought that Whitney Huston had a "good voice".Black Orchid wrote:Whether you like her or not she did have a pretty good voice and vocal range.

I think they both did. As a bit of fun I used to play this every Christmas and it drove the kids NUTS!!! The CD has now disappeared. I wonder why?

Once upon a time I used to watch the Myer Music Bowl Christmas thing... and sing a long with my daughter. She married and everything changed.
I still put up a Christmas tree but this year the grandkids are going to do it for me ... I did threaten to NOT do it this year.
