Well brew is up and running, stored in its fermenter. Rumpus room smells of beer. Soon all the cheapskates of Seaton will be knocking on my door armed with a "hello" and an empty glass and, knowing hubby, bottles of precious beer will be in the hands of neighbours I didn't even know existed. For the first time, brother and I actually brewed some beer without swearing at each other, which means this batch might just be perfect. Our next goal regardless - caramel stout. Brother dearest has made it heaps of times before so once this batch is bottled, we can wait for the warmer weather and get a caramel stout ready for next winter, which hopefully hubby and I will be drinking in our new house by the beach. This is the reality of holidays for me - without teenagers to pick on, I'm forced to dream my life away.

We only have one fermenter and 30 appropriate bottles so we have to drink all the beer first before we can start on a new batch which, in Dago time, should be about 3 days :D .

So stout doesn't like warmer weather? For some reason, I thought it was a summer brew.

NO beer likes being brewed in warm weather. A stout can hide off tastes better than any other type of beer.

Might need to find some more old beer bottles. What about those Coopers PET plastic bottles?
