Fracking is safe. It's a a fact.

Like already stated, "That depends on the method used".
Or to be more precise, the fracking fluid employed.

Steaming Coal Seam Gas (methane/CH4) is reasonably safe.
The one pitfall is when large volumes of gas leak into aquifers, making it harder or sometimes impossible bore bore pump impellers to suck up the water.

Sulphuric acid as a fracking fluid has it's dramas, but eventually is neutralised by the water.

Dieseline as a fracking fluid is just plain fucked up.

I'm not anti-fracking per se, but to be safe it has to be the right method in the right place.

Test drillings for fracking have been done in my area. We don't have coal seams (they're further West near Eidsvold) but we do have shale, so potentially oil. Which is extracted further West again out near Tara.
If they were to use Sulphuric acid as a fracking fluid in my area, there would be considerable opposition from NIMBYs, but most people in my area are unaware the large volumes of underground water we have are fed by underground rivers from New Guinea, and so the Sulphuric acid would soon be flushed.

True, but that's been going on for months, maybe longer.
In recent times, probably the last 6 weeks or so, I've been prevented from posting in numerous threads (particularly anything concerning religion and especially Muslims/Islam), or sometimes even reading past the 1st page. Now all of a sudden, no dramas.
So either they (the spooks) have worked out I'm not as extreme as they imagined, or better to keep me on side than get me off side.

Why? ... Well when I got raided by cops in 2009, they saw numerous items that aren't illegal but gave them cause to ask if I'm ex military. Which I'm not, so replied "No".
Last two times I got raided, both times this year, they saw my reading material, so know I'm no dubbo, and despite confiscating (without charges) certain materials under the explosives act, if they know their chemistry and have researched my metals industries
work history, they know I'm capable of making almost anything.
Thus it's better to have me productive than destructive.
