Teenage "terrorist" gets 10 years

A Melbourne teenager who planned an Anzac Day terrorist attack has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by a Victorian Supreme Court judge.

Sevdet Ramadan Besim, 19, had planned to run down and behead a police officer at an Anzac Day march in 2015.

He pleaded guilty to doing an act in preparation, or planning for, a terrorist attack — an offence which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

In sentencing Justice Michael Croucher described the plans as "evil" and designed to "strike fear into the community".

"It was also evil because, among other things, the planned behaviour was calculated to undermine the authority of the institutions of government ... and to use Mr Besim's own words, 'to make sure the dogs remember this as well as their fallen heroes on Anzac Day'."

But he told the court there was evidence Besim wanted to pull out from his plans, and that he was young, intelligent and had good prospects for rehabilitation.

He said Besim had the strong support of his family and friends, a large number of whom were in court for the sentencing.

Besim had been seeing a moderate imam and would also be going through a reasonably lengthy de-radicalisation program, Justice Croucher told the court.

Justice Croucher said he did not want to crush that with a heavy sentence.

He said it was clear Besim had been radicalised by older extremists who had influenced him at quite a vulnerable time of his life.

I doubt that the Judge would even believe his own words. Not that there is any place else for him to go, but it would be hard to imagine him straightening himself out in jail.

Exactly. This halal thing is ridiculous. We used to have a Greengrocer with "halal" fruit and veg ... huh? It has disappeared ... how can fruit and veg be "halal" and why would anybody advertise the fact. The Muslim population around here is next to NIL ... the local school has about 3 muslim students ...

I doubt that they get pork (or bacon) in the Clink.

Islamic State threatens attack on Sydney Opera House, SCG, MCG, other Australian landmarks

The Islamic State has called on its followers to kill Australians at several Australian landmarks including the Sydney and Melbourne Cricket Grounds, where matches for the 2016 Australian Football League finals will be held this week.
The IS urged its supporters to target the SCG, MCG, Sydney Opera House, Bondi Beach and other landmarks to avenge the recent death of IS Australian fighter Ezzit Raad in Syria.
Through its  propaganda magazine “Rumiya,” the IS urged its followers to “stab, shoot, poison and kill” Australians “wherever you find them.”
“Kill them on the streets of Brunswick, Broadmeadows, Bankstown, and Bondi,” IS magazine Rumiya reads (via Sydney Morning Herald). “Kill them at the MCG, the SCG, the Opera House, and even in their backyards.
“Stab them, shoot them, poison them, and run them down with your vehicles. Kill them wherever you find them until the hollowness of their arrogance is filled with terror and they find themselves on their knees with their backs broken under the weight of regret for having waged a war against the believers, and by Allah's will, and then through your sacrifices, this Ummah will be victorious."

IS calls for revenge on Australia
The chilling threat was issued after the IS confirmed Raad’s death in Aleppo, Syria. A former Melbourne citizen, Raad was reportedly killed after “a piece shrapnel struck him and tore his chest open” in the city of Manbij.
Raad had served four-and-a-half years in jail after being convicted in an operation named “Pendennis.” Raad left Australia in 2013 and flew to Syria to join the IS. Meanwhile, Ezzit’s brother Ahmad was jailed after the 2005 plot to blow up the MCG.
 The IS refers to Australia as a "a land cloaked in darkness and corrupted by kufr, fornication, and all forms of vice.” Australia is a major part of the US-led coalition that is fighting the IS army in Iraq and Syria.

I can see a day when we'll have Muslim only gaols/jails.

Currently inmates are being stabbed in NSW gaols/jails for refusing to convert to Islam.

In France upto 70% of the gaol/jail population is reputedly Muslim.

People think I'm mad/crazy and the intel org preventing my posting to certain threads (currently the one on the Fracking ban in Vic) think I'm extremist for saying "one day most non Muslim nations will expel their Muslim populations".
Quite simply the Muslim population will give us no other choice.
