Coming up on 17 years of marriage, but then I'm probably not as old and crusty as you bitter old farts.

Well done, 39 years for me on the 26th August. It has been tough - real tough at times for us both to hold it together. It nearly all went to custard about 10 years ago but we thankfully sorted it out. I still love her dearly and I am sure she feels the same for me - but I can understand why feelings change between two people and they go their own way. After seeing a few of our good friends separating, then divorcing, sometimes very bitterly, all I can say is try and sort it out yourselves via an intermediary or third party. Stay away from the Lawyers!

All i can add is, my wife and all the women in my life remember everything, every little transgression. I on the other hand done remember shit and don't really care.

Funny how that works. If it is not soooo important, it gets lost by that memory being replaced by one that is more useful.

Maybe that is the main difference. Women have evolved a better memory as part of their survival of the fittest as their tools are words and devious actions and men just punch it out in the present.

How NORMAL you are, Super Nova. I am often amused to see "elderly" couples at the Mall, nitpicking on each other .......

Males (and females) who CHEAT or get abusive deserve to get dumped.

I would have loved to have been in a steady relationship for 30 years but it wasn't to be. I chose the wrong person the first time and never bothered to get that involved ever again.

I do have male friends .... who actually remember my birthday and so forth but no "relationships".

I used to think I thought differently to others, but no realize I am just as subject to the human condition as everyone else. With age comes some wisdom.

If a partner is abusive and violent... kick them to the curb.

I have been with my wife for 30 years now..... you get less for murder.

That is exactly what we expect when we are young and impressive.

Unfortunately, I chose the wrong guy and that was the end of ever re-marrying for me.

Ahhh.....abusive men...my ex husband.

I was more determined than ever to find a good guy after I got rid of the old fart...and I did.

I just didn't think we'd be having kids lol.

Anyway....we're happy....busy but happy.
