I'm not sure if Bic Vic and Redneck understand the Constitution FD installed here when he first bought PA. Members have to be here for usually a year or so and then they're entitled to vote at the yearly election. I'm not sure whether long term, but banned members can vote under special circumstances, but new members have to wait unfortunately.

Well I have been a member since October 2014, So I guess the should qualify me.

Is there a copy of this constitution on the forum?

Perhaps Skippy might like to tell us is there an election pending (or is this all speculation by some)and what he proposes as the procedures that will be followed.



I have no desire to be Admin but would do a mod job if you need an extra skippy!

They are the rules we live by here, if you don't like then stick around for a year posting and you get to have a say.

This site has been running for 10 years.

It is a unique site in that the admin is elected.

To vote you need to have been an active member for at least one year and not be banned at the time of the election.

The site is for the members and it is member run.

Our host supports this experiment in web democracy. We are grateful for this support.

The election is run fairly with well defined process. It is independently ratified by the host who then grants to new Admin their superpowers.

Admin selects their Mods.

It all works well.

Election stacking with newly registered members for the purpose of rigging the election has a simple safeguard. If 20 new members joined and were active for a year then their democratic majority if they were to vote as a block would win the day. That would be democratic. It would require some planning and active participation for a year of these 20 members. One member one vote, sox do not get counted.

A consequence of this experiment is the politics of power. Some in the past (who shall not be named) only wanted power and control over the forum and did not have the interests of the members at heart. They were sacked and new election were held. Election time always generates a thread like this.

Newbies, stick around... express your opinion, after a year, you will be added to the election roll.
