Japanese are considered to be clean but I can assure you that Japanese men seldom if ever wash their hands after doing their business even with their fabulous modern clean robotic toilets ...

Most places I don't even want to touch the tap to turn the water on,

Life here isn't what it used to be that's for sure.

I had to stop at a service station last week for oil and the guy didn't even have a clue what I wanted. No prices on anything and the shelves were dusty and dirty.

those sort of places are disappearing in the States which is a good thing so one isn't often forced to deal with them and their shitty service ... an independent Indian-owned store can be spotted a mile away ... the Indians and Middle-Easterners that own a modern franchise have to adhere to standards I suppose ...

A reasonable standard needs to be enforced here. It's ridiculous and it is just getting worse. What is the breaking point?

Once upon a time service station attendants would check your oil. Now they don't even know what you are talking about when you want to buy motor oil.

Next time I will go to KMart.

Japanese men are pigs but that's not just relegated to the Japanese. Plenty of blokes don't wash their hands. Japanese women are gems although I would class most of them as high maintenance and materialistic. Even 20 odd years ago when I stayed in Honjo, the shitters in everyday houses were western and blew water and hot air up your date.

I usually get my gas at the same place these days, one of these giant chains just off the interstate with good gas prices with a restaurant-type setting inside with large clean toilets and helpful if mentally-challenged employees. that is the future here. and they don't sell franchises.

My late husband took pictures of the Executive Suite toilets in Italy, I think. Seats with footprints so one in the MEN'S TOILET knew what they were meant to do.
They squat on toilets in Italy?

Most every man here in the States washes his hands after doing his business, at least in public restrooms in office buildings. There are a lot of obsessive men here as well who wash and wash and wash and then when exiting won't even touch the restroom door with their hands such is their germ-phobia

Is it the same in WA IQ? I am guessing not from the comments I see on the boards. WA and SA seem not to have been quite so 'touched' yet. Most of the critics of the Sydney 'whingers' seem to be from SA or WA. QLD too.
