Couldn't find a thread here on Clive (morbidly obese) Palmer.

He seems to be in a wee bit of trouble.

Palmer is a maggot, no surprises he is Aussies idol. Palmer could be in a lot of trouble and he deserves it.

Taxpayers may have to fund more than $70 million in payouts for Queensland Nickel (QNI) workers if the company goes into liquidation.
Malcolm has a few words ....
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull called on Mr Palmer to pay the entitlements himself, saying it was "the very least he could do".
What next for Queensland Nickel?

The administrators have recommended liquidation, but what does that mean for workers, creditors and Clive Palmer?

"He's built himself up as a great business leader and a great philanthropist," Mr Turnbull told 6PR Radio in Perth.

"Let's just see Mr Palmer put his money up.

"There are men and women there in Townsville who have lost their jobs — they are entitled to payments. Mr Palmer should make those good.

"That's the very least he could do in these circumstances, and I call on him to do just that."
WHY should the taxpayer pay for Clive's problems?

I reckon Aussie finally realised being a "Labor man" is a social fuck up because Labor are so incompetent and corrupt their stench is not a desirable scent, so voted for Pork pies Palmer as a protest vote.

Now it's hardly surprising a dodgey character (like Aussie) would get suckered by a dodgey character (like Pamer) because it's just so common and seems to pervade just about every aspect of society.

Take for example people who get duped by internet scams. In each case it is their own greed manifesting as deceitfulness/untrustworthiness/dishonesty that gets them suckered, because in each case the victim must do something dodgey/illegal in order to gain/claim the supposed reward/pay off.

Another example (one of my favourites) is vegetarianism. Those afflicted with this illness will say literally anything no matter how absurd and how glaring the contradicting evidence if they think they can convert another with their proselytising. And the sicker they become, the more they try to convince others of how much healthier they are since becoming vegetarian.

Palmer per se really only came undone because he was so used to getting away with it and what he wanted because of political favouritism from the National Party in Qld.
Clive was a life member of the party, a regular large donation contributer and even bank rolled Sir Joh Bjelkie Peanutfarmer's "Joh for PM" campaign.

But the Libs were pilfering Nat seats, and so to prevent a Jurd and McCoy like war the Libs and Nats in Qld amalgamated, to become the LNP.

Campbell "Can do" Newman was popular in the SE Qld corner as Lord Mayor of Brisbane, so the LNP made him their figurehead. Newman was a Lib, so owed no allegiance to Palmer, and so refused to continue the political favouritism of Palmer and his pet projects.

The rest you can probably work out for yourselves, or watch on telly.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

This scheme started under Howard and his brother's company - National Textiles. There were supposed to be changes made for the payments to be capped in 2014, but they were never enacted in Parliament so we're stuck with this. Turnbull might be making noises about Palmer paying for his workers' entitlements, but Palmer is protected from doing this thanks to a succession of slack governments.

Why should we have to bail these huge companies out? Right from the very beginning, management and the shareholders should have had to take responsibility for their workers even if it meant going after them personally. They reaped the profits yet the taxpayer is forced to pay their debts.

Good grief still Howard bashing mantra still attacking Howard through his family with unsubstantiated argument? How unusual for you. :rofl
