What's on TV?
Couldn't find another thread.
I see that ABC has Janet King on. Not sure I can warm to Marta Dusseldorp (she's in Jack Irish too, isn't she?) I missed the first episode so had to watch it in iView.
I have just finished watching Season 19 of Silent Witness on the BBC Channel (Foxtel) .... worth watching when it finally is show on our ABC or Commercial Channels.
Also, there is a new Season of Line of Duty starting on the BBC Channel (Foxtel) next week. Very intriguing. Our ABC or one of the commercial channels will have it in a few weeks.

I watched Jack Irish and enjoyed it.
If I watch tv I generally watch the ABC.
I like British tv drama much more than American.

Marta Dusseldorp was good when she was younger, but in a Place to Call Home and Janet King she overacts. Is Janet King a new series or a repeat? I thought the new Line of Duty was on 13th Street which I don't have. I watched the first series which was good, but couldn't get into the last one.
Silent Witness is interesting and definitely improving with each series.

So do I, but recently I've started watching Law and Order which isn't too bad.skippy wrote:I like British tv drama much more than American.

I prefer British drama too.
Line of Duty (Season 3) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2303687/
The Night Manager http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1399664/
A few new ones on the BBC Channel which I haven't see yet.
Capital http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4594334/
Remember Me http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1403981/
Stonemouth http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4274822/
The Game http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3159736/
As I said, some of them may have been shown before but I can't recall seeing them.
The Other TV stuff I like are the CI (Crime Investigation) things ........ mostly American though. Plus the History Channel and Discovery.

It is a new series. You can still get the first episode on iView and probably the second episode as well.mantra wrote:Marta Dusseldorp was good when she was younger, but in a Place to Call Home and Janet King she overacts. Is Janet King a new series or a repeat?
I'd have to check which Foxtel channel Line of Duty is on, but the NEW 3rd Season begins this coming Wednesday (6th) on Foxtel.I thought the new Line of Duty was on 13th Street which I don't have. I watched the first series which was good, but couldn't get into the last one.
Agreed.Silent Witness is interesting and definitely improving with each series.

Re: What's on TV?
I think Marta Dusseldorp is shocking. I watched A Place To Call Home a few times and her 'talent' was definitely on the lowest rung. It's a shame, if they cast a different lead the show probably would have had a better chance.
I don't much like the Brit cop shows as I find them all the same, the characters wishy washy and you can usually guess the ending within 5 minutes. There are some great American drama shows out there and I much prefer those.

Re: What's on TV?
I just checked and Line of Duty, Season 3, starts next week on 13th Street. However, I see that the ABC is about to run repeats of Line of Duty, Season 1, so presume that the latest version will eventually be shown on ABC.mantra wrote:I thought the new Line of Duty was on 13th Street which I don't have. I have seen all of those. Doc Martin is still going, up to about Season 7. I can't take to him. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408381/
