Re: Turnbull - good decisions
Oh dear... he didn't decide on them till Sunday and they didn't get sworn in till today mantra. So just when did the Cabinet meet and how, to make that decision that has already been announced?

If that's the case - then you're right - it was a Captain's call, but definitely not an objectionable one.

Re: Turnbull - good decisions
According to Sky news and The news Lmd press Turnbull has not made a decision to remove knighthoods but will take the idea to cabinet. So no captains call here.
From the online Tele, YESTERDAY.
[quoteRepublican Mr Turnbull, who once mocked his predecessor’s embrace of imperial honours as a “monarchical move’’, will take the decision to Cabinet.]
Before anyone asks for a link, I googled it, I don't have access to the Tele either but had no trouble finding a page of news outlets reporting the same thing led by sky news and the Tele.

Costello backs Abbott dumping.
I had to add this part as it looks like Costello is a bit pissed off saying this.
[quoteAsked if Mr Turnbull did the right thing by seizing the leadership, Mr Costello said: “Here’s the rule in the Liberal Party — if you win, you did the right thing. They’re the rules of the Liberal Party. The Liberal Party really only rewards you for an outcome.]
]http://www.businessspectator.com.au/new ... nbull-coupBecoming the most senior Liberal to support it, the former federal treasurer said that, based on opinion polls since Malcolm Turnbull replaced Mr Abbott, it “most certainly” appeared to have been the right decision. “It looks like ... the public have embraced it.”For the Abbott government, a “significant loss was on the cards” but now “a significant victory” at next year’s election was a possibility, he said.

I don't either but I was interested if Turnbull had indeed lies and made a Captains pick. Going by most of the stories available on the subject while he intends to take it to Cabinet he has not actually made a Captains pick on it.Rorschach wrote:I don't read the Tele.... good luck there Skippy... Good call Malcolm.
Abbott - as PM and Minister for Women's Affairs was an example of a leader who believed most women were inferior to men. Turnbull is promoting gender equality.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has called on all Australians to make a "cultural shift" and stop disrespecting women, declaring that gender inequality lies at the heart of domestic violence.
Violence against women is one of the great shames of Australia. It is a national disgrace
In comments that have been labelled a "gamechanger" for the fight against domestic violence, Mr Turnbull called on parents, teachers and employers to get on board the culture change, saying he wanted Australia to become known as a country that respects women.
