I don't agree with what he's done, but this sort of stuff happens all the time and he's only in trouble because he's a celebrity. There are worse cases in our society, but the punishment is lighter. Harris is a fool, but he's paying for it.
Regardless of how OLD he is... he took advantage of CHILDREN ... IF one of them was yours, Mantra, you would surely be less forgiving?
This is true, but if Harris wasn't a wealthy celebrity - would this woman have come forward after so many years and demanded justice? I've never liked Rolf - he's always seemed sleazy, but his behaviour was tolerated. Why didn't the girl tell her mother about it? At the time - no matter how young she was, she chose to keep that little secret to herself so she could continue to visit the Harris' household. All these years later - she claims her life is ruined. As a young adult - she could have spoken out and as a mature adult she could have spoken out earlier, but now Harris is at the end of his life and she wants a slice of the pie before he dies. It's all about money.

Don't agree. They are victims... end of story.

Victims do not always come forward. It is part of the grooming process the fiddler engages in. Fear, shame... a belief that this is normal... there are many reasons.

Good on them for coming forward.

They have come forward because of the Jimmy Saville attention.

Looks like the boys are sharing their secret stories and trading notes.

Often wondered why the parents weren't involved at the time or even soon after, or pushing for the police to investigate if their children mentioned anything to them (and why wouldn't they).
And why would you maintain any relationship even later with someone who had hurt or ruined you.

I don't understand it either.

That makes sense to an extent, but the blocked communication between child and parent doesn't seem believable unless some parents just ignore the warning signs or don't care if the child does confide in them - especially if the child is being molested by a celebrity.

Because he sold himself as such, and we were all happy enough to accept him as one, until the shit hit the fan :Hi
Speak for yourself. I always thought he was weird and that his 'music' was crap.
Well, that's good enough for me... better contact the immigration minister, and see if we can't get his citizenship revoked :thumb
Well that has absolutely zero relevance to anything I said. You are a strange one.

Then your first reply to me had nothing to do with what I had said :hi2

I said we were happy to accept him as an Australian until the shit hit the fan. Last I heard, being a bit weird and writing crap music had nothing to do with citizenship :P

Incorrect. Rolf ALWAYS made me cringe. BTW he was born in 1930 and moved to England in 1952. Before most of us posting here were born! Hope he dies in prison.

What's incorrect? I'm not disputing that he is (and always was) cringeworthy... he's still always been seen as Australian

Well I never "accepted" him as anything and always thought he was a Brit to begin with. Not having ever wasted any thoughts on him because I always considered him creepy.

To scare the beejeevers out of someone then send them a wobbly board
For added "enjoyment" include the CD of Two little Boys
