Money well spent, perhaps? We should cease giving the Indos our hard earned to keep them friendly by way of "support" and do some more for us Aussies, particularly in the R & D area.

It is unfortunate that our Governments (Federal and State) only seem to look forward to the next Election. We need to look forward to 2020+ right now. That's only 5 years away and I bet you that most people have no clue where they will be or what they will do in 5 years or are saving for it. Spend now, repent later.

Again, there is talk about jobs becoming "computerised". Didn't we go through this in the 90's? It didn't happen.However, there must be a glut of Computer Techies and so forth. We are short on Nurses so that we have to import them?

What jobs will be available in 2020 and beyond? What should, say, 15 year olds be looking at as a career NOW? Art? Law? Medicine? Computers? Teaching?

So you keep saying but as far as I've seen Rudd and Gillard didn't pay anyone to smuggle boat people to another country,, the only payments made under a labor govt. were to informants in order to get them to speak ... police agencies from all around the world have been paying informants for centuries . It's hardly the same thing and only goes to show just how desperate the libs are becoming..

I agree, and that's exactly why we should be careful about pissing off Indonesia just to score some cheap political points. ... their economy is tipped to overtake ours in the not to distant future, we need their trade more than they need ours, and it's only getting worse.

it's not my fault you don't understand English. There have never been any claims that labor paid people smugglers to smuggle people, (I'm not counting Murdocks crap, he makes shit up like you do) the claims are that they paid informants, and normal part of law enforcement.

Stop congratulating yourself and concentrate more on getting something right, just for once in your life.
