before I decide whether to support this legislation or not, I have a hypothetical

if abbott is found to have acted illegally by paying people smugglers, does his Australian citizenship get revoked?

Does he qualify for British citizenship?

But seriously... it should be left to the courts, not some fuckwit minister, whose job description is "be popular".

He has yet to prove he has revoked his English citizenship ....

and I agree with your statement about the courts. Our system of government works best BECAUSE we have a separation of powers. Start changing that and our grand kids will eventually end up in our own little dictatorship

Give it a break. Tony Abbott could NEVER even enter politics in Australia if he had dual Citizenship. Pollies HAVE to be an Australian Citizen, ONLY. Section44 or something.
