I guess we could just sit back, and watch the world burn. It's just a matter of time.

Boxy, noone is disputing that the above could or will ever happen again, but what most of us don't appreciate is when left-wing politically motivated paid puppets (like Hawking) share wild apocalyptic statements via social media (to frighten morons like yourself into climate action) because they have an ulterior agenda and vested financial interest in the product and hoax that is global warming.

Remember, Hawking is a theoretical physicist and cosmologist....not a climatologist, thus isn't really qualified to a scientific opinion on such scientific matters.

I lost all respect for Hawking when he started tweeting his doomsday apocalyptic climate theories via twitter....and if you'll take a look and see just who is interested and follows his tweets these days, along with those who Hawking allegedly follows himself, you may think twice yourself.

Noone takes this drooling vegetative socialist puppet seriously these days.
Not even Twitter.

Sorry.

You need to get with the program.
Oh the irony of the left proclaiming themselves progressive.
1 step forward, then 100 steps back isn't progress.

Hawking isn't qualified yet anti-science politicians and religious leaders are?

Did I forget to post the ever-growing list of scientists who are qualified to an opinion questioning the pseudo-science known as Global Warming?

The climate has been changing for 4.54 billion years....... SO?!??!?

This is an excellant summary on the whole global warming issue
And "Richard A. Muller (born January 6, 1944) is an American professor of physics at the University of California, Berkeley. He is also a faculty senior scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. In the world of science, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) is synonymous with “excellence.” Thirteen Nobel prizes are associated with Berkeley Lab. Seventy Lab scientists are members of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), one of the highest honors for a scientist in the United States. Thirteen of our scientists have won the National Medal of Science, our nation’s highest award for lifetime achievement in fields of scientific research. Eighteen of our engineers have been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, and three of our scientists have been elected into the Institute of Medicine. In addition, Berkeley Lab has trained thousands of university science and engineering students who are advancing technological innovations across the nation and around the world."

Quite a negative attitude you have there, Roach. Basically, you're saying there is nothing we can do about the inevitable, so just ignore it.

Whereas Hawking's attitude is completely optimistic by comparisons, advocating that we do what we can to ensure the long term survival and expansion of human endevour.
"We must continue to go into space for the future of humanity," Mr Hawking said.

"I don't think we will survive another 1,000 years without escaping beyond our fragile planet."

...

Both his lectures on Saturday and Sunday night were sold out - the enthusiastic audience keen to hear the 73-year-old speak about the universe, black holes, and the history of time.

"I want to share my excitement and enthusiasm about this quest, so remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet," Mr Hawking said.

"Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist.

"Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at."

So, it will happen again, sooner or later. AGW is totally irrelevant to this thread. Sooner or later, the climate is going to change (even if we don't do it ourselves). And that's one of the more minor dangers we face, that can be managed, to some extent (although the death toll is likely to be ugly), whereas the more cataclysmic problems could see us wiped without any chance to plan or prepare ourselves.

Sooner or later if we just stay on this rock we will be wiped out.

We need to get off this rock... sooner the better in terms of our long term survival.

We need to colonise the moon and mars asap.

We should start considering sending microbes to Mars (if that would work) and start terraforming the place. Forget looking for life.. .that's just academic for now.... let's pollute the place with our (the earths) life forms and get things going...............
