Then look no further than this dead British torso espousing left-wing apocalyptic doomsday theories with an American synthesized voice from a wheelchair.

Any of you fluffy bunnies want to challenge the science behind his claims?

Boxy, his science is theoretical at best.

We'll see just how theoretical it all is when one of these, a kilometre or two across, hits, wont we.

Boxy, the operative word being "when" .... again, his science is theoretical at best ...yet to be proven FACT!

In fact, it's right up there with your global warming theory.

Don't see why I would have to, given that his claims are just stating the bleeding obvious, if you know anything about the history of the earth.

We're living in a golden age of stability, have been for millennia, where the universe hasn't thrown a spanner in our works. Sure, we've had plagues, and minor climate events... but nothing significant. Sooner or later, a big rock will come out of no where, or a disease, or a climate shift (anthropomorphic or not, I don't give a fuck), or the sun will do something unexpected, or a race of insect overlords will turn up...

In geological timescales, we will soon become extinct... in cosmological timescales, we don't even rate a mention yet...

Evolutionarily successful organisms spread themselves as far and as wide as possible while they can, in order to avoid localised extinction events. We would be foolish to choose to limit ourselves to this single biosphere, don't'cha think?
