Well I won't be moving to another planet or buying realestate currently being sold on the moon. While I think space travel/discovery is for the most part a positive, I don't see it as an imperitive.

I won't go to another country to fight an enemy, but should our resident Mozzies initiate civil war and/or we are invaded by our muslim neighbors directly to our north. If I am still physically capable I will fight to defend what I believe is mine, while characters like Rawsack are on the first boat to NZ. And have various contingecy stategies for this very purpose (eg grow food in secret locations in the bush ect).

I have long suspected the impacts of Global Warming will be dramatically escalated during and climax in the next world war, which will either be against Islam or China (maybe both in a 3 sided war).

The world is over populated and anyone thinking genetically engineered food crops will support the projected 9 billion people are living a fantasy. I actually agree with the elitist agenda to reduce the global population back down to 3 billion max.

In the next wave of mass extictions, specialists who survive on very selective food sources will be the first to die out, and adaptable omnivors like humans, pigs, rats and cockroaches will probably survive, albeit in reduced numbers.

If my life quality is reduced to such a degree (ie disease)that it's not worth living, I also have the means for self euthanasia. And I have not added to the population via procreation for a plethora of reasons. Responsibility for another being the 1st.

Doomsday predictions come and go ... and go ... and go ...

EVERYONE DIES ... eventually. The best you can hope for is to live a relatively long life without too much pain or suffering.

I think "heaven" must be full by now so perhaps the dead will transport to the Moon or some other planet and live, happily ever after, with the aliens. :rofl

I am for the one child policy. China got that one right .... well nearly.
I've always thought a child needs at least one sibling so that he/she has someone if the parents die, but there are so many huge families who have put no thought into procreation. Australia has already reached the population which was planned for 2040, although it doesn't compare to other countries, particularly the poor ones. China stuffed up. It should have been a two child policy.

In hindsight - I would do the same and not have children. A mass extinction is on the cards - whether accidentally or deliberately.

All the world's population can be put into one cubic mile... do you still think we are overpopulated?
What a ridiculous comeback. Can 9 billion people survive together in one cubic mile? We're talking about sustainability here - not land space. Australia for example is wasting so much of its arable space and is quickly turning into a third world country because out politicians allow it to be exploited to make a quick buck. Even if we thought 50 years ahead - it would be an improvement on what we have now.

The Wizard says "PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN."
I'd really like to know who Steve's curtain man is.

Not ridiculous at all... it puts things in perspective.
Or don't you know just how big or small a cubic mile actually is mantra.
BTW the world pop is 7.3 Billion mantra... no need to add billions to it just yet.
I agree that governments do a poor job of land management and infrastructure development and planning for the future.

Classic Conspirinaught Melbark

He's not saying anything that hasn't been widely known for decades. Anyone who has even a passing interest in the history of earth knows that sooner or later something big happens to upset the status quo. If we don't bomb ourselves back to the stone age (or further) in the next few hundred years, the universe will take care of it herself. A hostile universe could well be the reason for the Fermi Paradox.

So, some doomsday lefty "boxy" thinks I'm a conspiratanaught?

That makes about as much sense as a black-hole theorist come denialist/ cosmetologist with ALS living to age 70 after having been diagnosed with ALS half a century ago when he was given 2 years to live.

They say he has a rare form of ALS, but just how rare is it?

How many other people have lived half a century after being diagnosed with ALS ?

Zero... most are dead within 5 years.

Remember, Hawking was the guy who blamed his "progressive" primary school for him not being able to read when he was 8 years old.

Genius or fraud?

I have no doubt he's disabled, I just don't believe it's ALS or that his brain is still functioning the way some would have us believe.
