Bad Parenting Candidates

Post by Super Nova » Mon Apr 13, 2015 6:11 pm

I see lot's of bad parenting in the internet sometimes.

This one just takes the cake...

Toddler falls into cheetahs' cage after being dangled by parents, say zoo officials

A US zoo is to seek charges against the parents of a toddler who fell into a cheetah pen – after they allegedly dangled him over the enclosure.

Reports said tragedy was narrowly avoided at the weekend after the two-year-old boy fell into the exhibit at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The cheetahs ignored the boy, whose parents climbed into the exhibit to get him out, zoo officials said.

“You could just hear the screams and all you could see was the adult that jumped in got the kid,” Michael Lurie, a visitor to the zoo who witnessed the incident, told WEWS-TV. “Then somebody pulled him out.”

The zoo planned to file child endangerment charges against the boy's parents on Monday, zoo officials said.

“Unfortunately, we have a number of eyewitness accounts that point to the strong likelihood that the child was dangled over the railing,” said Christopher Kuhar, the zoo’s executive director. There has been no comment yet from the child’s parents.

Cleveland Fire Department spokesman Larry Gray told the Associated Press that the toddler was treated for bumps and bruises.

India surrogacy case: Documents show New South Wales couple abandoned baby boy despite warnings

The highly redacted FOI documents shed more light on the Australian couple's desperate bid to leave behind the twin boy.

Emails and cables between the Australian High Commission in New Delhi and Government officials in Canberra reveal the couple travelled to India late in 2012 to seek citizenship for a baby girl but told consular staff they would be leaving her twin brother behind because they could not afford him, they already had a son at home and wanted to "complete their family" with a girl.

According to the documents, the Australian man then misled consular staff when he told them he would be giving the boy to some friends in India "who were unable to conceive a child".

A cable from Australian High Commission staff to Canberra in early 2013 said: "The proposed adoptive parents are in fact not close family friends of the biological parents, but are known to the biological parents through a mutual friend."

The couple was repeatedly told abandoning the boy could leave him stateless because India did not recognise surrogate children as citizens.

"If the parents do not apply for Australian citizenship for the child, the child will be stateless in India ...our ability to provide assistance to a non Australian citizen is limited," a DFAT email on December 19, 2012 said.
"But you will run your fluffy bunny mouth at me. And I will take it, to play poker."

CHLOE Valentine wasn’t killed by just two ferals. Also guilty is the feral culture that millions of us helped create.

So it’s not enough that we’ve jailed Chloe’s mother, Ashlee Polkinghorne, and her brutal partner, Benjamin McPartland.

Nor is it enough the we blame South Australia’s child protection service, Families SA, even though it was given 20 separate warnings that Chloe was in danger yet — shockingly — did not save her.

No, we must confront the values we’ve allowed to take root that helped make modern Australia so toxic for this four-year-old.

The bare facts are now well known.

In 2012, Chloe was living at Ingle Farm with Polkinghorne and McPartland, who thought it would be a great joke to force the four-year-old to ride a motorbike three times her weight.

They made her ride it repeatedly over three days, even though she couldn’t stop without falling off the bike, or under it. You can hear them laughing at her in a video.

Chloe fell unconscious, but as coroner Mark Johns noted in his report last week, Polkinghorne and McPartland waited more than eight hours to call an ambulance, and meanwhile “occupied themselves by using Facebook, doing some internet banking, searching the internet as to what to do when a person was rendered unconscious, and smoked cannabis”.

Chloe died. A forensic pathologist said she’d seen such terrible bruising only once before, in an adult.

Coroner Johns’ report is passionate and critically important.

Read it, because it challenges many lethal conceits of a society that increasingly values pleasure above duty, self above family, freedom above responsibility.

First of all, of course, it exposes our farcical faith that government officials can deal with the collapse of the family unit now that we’ve destroyed social taboos against divorce, drugs and casual sex.

I nominate whoever sprogged in the flyblown crotch of Aussies biological incubator and then drank themselves stupid in the hope that their spawn would have the same physical foetal alcohol traits as they do.
