As to Dead Ted, he did do a lot of legislative work for the poor (though he was often unconcerned with future generations paying for it) and I do believe he cared for the poor and issues like affordable health care but as with all Kennedys his power and position and the family always came before the country or personal aquantances.

He left a woman to die in cold waters and worried more about the effect on him than getting help to her, he was often disingenuous about his and his brothers political record such as recently saying they helped end the Vietnam war, hell they got it going and Bobby only turned peace candidate after he saw the war was going badly and there were a lot of votes in it when McCarthy had proved it in the New Hampshire primary

He kept mouthing slogans about ending the Iraq war “with honor” but never gave any details what this meant and he voted against the successful surge strategy, so honor to him must have meant run and forget the place, as he did all those years before with a women dumb enough to trust a Kennedy.

And this brings up Obama, in his eulogy he was eloquent but once again when one actually thinks about what he has written it is a trite regurgitation of the slogans of others.

“Lion of the Senate” Groan!!!!! I did not see that one coming Obama.

One would think an Ivy League education would help one learn how to write their own material.

Still, he is splendid at delivering a line.

At the Farmers Market this morning bought a Belgian Chocolate tart (yum!) and 5 hyacinth plants. I will call them Hyacinth, Richard, Daisy, Onslow & Sheridan
