How many people have been murdered by the state and have been innocent?
If you've ever been asked to do jury duty you'd also know why it's best to never be involved in the legal system.

Now...irrespective of what you say or think AiA, adherence to foreign laws is what is at issue here.

You visit a foreign country, you need to obey their laws. If you're not prepared to obey their laws, don't go to that country expecting some type of legal exemption.

The death penalty should only really be applied to the progressives and the left. Their actions kill millions every day.

I don't have an issue with the death penalty.

Aia, some may argue that dug smuggling is a vicious crime. They point to the effect on people and society.

I do have an issue with the individual getting a fair trial that has to conclude beyond doubt. In Indonesia this is not assured.

However it is clear. You come there peddling drugs you die. That's the rules. Don't complain when you get caught. It's their laws. They apply it equally to their own. Just because you are a westerner does not entitle you to our laws and any special treatment.

I don't think that threats of Capital Punishment deters crooks from committing a crime, whether it is murder, drug trafficking or otherwise. Just look at the USA. As at 1 October, 2014, there were 3,035 on Death Row.

I imagine that most on Death Row reckon they are innocent .... or have found God, most prisoners state they are innocent and have been "stitched up". Fortunately, we now have DNA but prior to that, no doubt some people were convicted for crimes they did not commit. There are lots of stories about that sort of thing.

However, as SN showed in that picture, in Indonesia (and no doubt elsewhere) there are HUGE signs stating that Drug Trafficking attracts the Death Penalty.

Over the years there have been other Aussies who faced the Death Penalty for drug trafficking offences in SE Asia. Barlow and Chambers were hanged in Malaysia in 1986. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barlow_and ... _execution

Can't these people read? Do they really think they can get away with this and that The Government will come to their aid?

I have absolutely no sympathy for these crims. I do have compassion for their parents and family. They will be blaming themselves, no doubt.
