Oh internet, your nostradamus-like predictions of Communist / Islamofascist global dominance brought on by voting for a progressive government are always so unwaiveringly accurate. Why I remember the tanks rolling in to Times Square on the day Clinton was sworn in like it was yesterday. Indeed, the country formerly known as "Australia" (now officially rechristened.. err.. I mean re-muslimed Southern Indokorea) were once a proud God fearing people until they elected Rudd, whose apology to the Aboriginal people immediately resulted in bankrupting lawsuites and invasion of the yellow peril, as predicted by the internets.

God bless Republican USA, last bastion of western democracy.

Most of the post is your amusing Mattus red herring (over-rated Perth resturant), but the Aboriginal apolgy thing has not played itself out, there are Aboriginal activist groups already organising law suites claiming they are owed more compensation because the government has admitted liability.

And given the courts here have made the ludicrous decision that Aboriginal groups hold "native title" in much of metropolitan Perth while not detailng what this actually means, their dream time may become a very expensive reality.

Biden? The white guy I wanted was Sam Nunn. Obama needs a white Southerner on the ticket.

Nunn would have balanced the ticket geographically but Nunn is such a hawk that it would have grossly offended Obama's anti war far left and they are rabid. He needs them to turn out in large numbers he can not afford to completely piss them off and have them stay home.

I would have thought a better have been a woman. Obama is not polling well with women over the age of 40 which must be disturbing for him as this group naturally tends to vote democratic, he could have neutralised some of the bitterness gleaned from the Hilary primary and picked a woman, though not Hilary as she has so dictated the convention rules and terms to Obama, getting two different speeches on two nights, one for her, one for Bill and then demanding and roll call vote that will highlight just how close she was to winning, if he picked her people would have to wonder who the real president is.

Biden is a tricky choice in my opinion.

Biden has a big mouth and over the decades in the Senate has provided a gold mine of quotes that can be used against him.

The choice also damages Obama’s message that Washington is the problem that he is moving to a new form of politics, as Binden is old school nasty politics. For instance during the Clarence Thomas hearing Biden assured Thomas he would be fair and probably vote for him, then during the hearing he turned on Thomas, pulled quotes from Thomas chopped and edited them (given Biden was caught committing plagerism at University he has some experience with appropriating other people’s words for his own benefit), put Thomas words out of context and intentionally made Thomas’ positions seem other than what Biden knew they were, and voted against him.

Obama is betting that Biden will give the ticket some foreign policy credibility but even here there are some problems. Biden voted for the Iraq war and when Obama proposed leaving Biden criticized this as revealing Obama’s inexperience and naïve.

Yet Biden’s judgment was little better, he opposed the Surge, which has been so successful and would have partitioned the country. Breaking up a country when the democratically elected government of that country has asked you not to and then having to deal with three problems, what a solution!

How very colonial.

If I was not such a drunk, degenerate with a very busy life I would make one hell of a political pundit.

Frogen last week on:
I am saying it again, if Mac picks a woman, say Kay B Hutchenson, a social conservative, but a woman, he throws Obama's campaign into the fires of middle class Mom hell.
And I think I have been ranting for Mac to pick a woman here some where too.

Way to go Mac.
