correct and the reason the left won't support it is because it will upset a large component of their traditional support baseRorschach wrote:There are many people who rort the DSP and many people fortunate enough to have a compassionate Dr who helps them obtain it because Newstart is so inadequate.
That doesn't mean that these people should not be taken off it. There are many "bad" backs out there or "depressed" people who get it, and shouldn't. It should be for those genuinely in need.
One thing that is better is that at least Drs will be checking people out and rejecting the frauds and not some bureaucrat who is mostly clueless and is a bean counter.

Why do you deliberately misinterpret my posts? Did I say it was easier for young people to rort the system? When a young person pretends to be ill to get out of working, the pretense can become a habit. They will probably spend their whole life being idle and a burden. Working is better for a person's mental, emotional and physical health so on those principles alone access to the disability pension should be tightened up.Rorschach wrote:You think it's easier for young people to rort the DSP? I agree that tighter controls have to be made on who receives these benefits, but still the government is going to have to get its act together and produce more jobs for Australians to compensate.
You're encouraging these dimwitted trolls to abuse me with your dishonest comments.
