ipad or tablet?

Which would you choose and why?

Ipads are a lovely piece of kit on the hardware side and easy to use applications. Lots of applications. Good for games. A fully connected eco system.

Good for consumption. Poor content creation.

Tablet - Android - Same as Ipad

Tablet using windows 8.1 provides a simplar experience to Android tablet and Ipad but do not have the number of games ...etc.
However you can run everything you can run on a PC.

For me I choose a PC Tablet so I can edit my excel sheets, edit word.... etc and be able use it like an Ipad when I am browsing or playing games ...etc.

Why get an iPad when a tablet is much much cheaper? The iPad is a doomed piece of technology.

My reason for asking is this : I recently won a maths competition and was given the choice of either an ipad or tablet as my prize. I chose the tablet but was still wondering if I'd made the right decision. Seems I have.

Now everyone here wants one for Christmas too (NB they keep using mine all the time and it's giving me the shits).

you made the wrong decision. it was free. you should have taken the prize with the higher value: the iPad. You could have easily resold it.

Isn't stuff like that a pain to try and offload? And its resale price would be lower even if it was still in its original box. Right?

Next time I win anything, and I'm given a choice in the prize on offer, I'll pop in and ask you guys about it. Technology can get a tad tricky at times.

I love my ipad but it is hard to cut and paste with as I find it is not like using a mouse where you can just c&p a paragraph or whole page with a simple drag.
I would also like the features of a laptop like SN mentions. I'm thinking of buying myself a
MacBook Air for Xmas.

iPad for better standard interface and updates across your products. I find the use easier. I had a couple android / windows devices and the windows stuff just locked up and the android was different on everything. The apple devices seem nice and standardized and easier to use and move information between. I suppose you pay for what you get if you buy the cheaper stuff. I like the apple iCloud and I think their gear will be around a long time simply because they own the music industry online.
