So you're wrong again poxy one... I don't like Napthine as a Premier or state leader. The Libs have been a poor government in Vic. Mind you they did have some problems with personnel, like that idiot Shaw. The feds obviously haven't helped much but Vic is principally a labor state. Who knows why? Maybe it's historically a anti-born-to-rule thing, since that's where the born to rule Libs usually come from.

Laugh all you like but we all know that when the country is upset with a major party, they start losing state elections...Abbott et al had better do a whole lot better with the day job- because the signs are there aleady ! I don't see this as anything other than total disenchantment with Abbott and his trough men on a grand scale.

If he doesn't pick up in the next year- he is in for a crushing defeat.

I do NOT care who is in "power". There is still a couple of years before we have to vote for the Federal Government, anything can happen between now and then.

I was giggling at Mantra about the Greens. They go from about 9% to 10% and have done for eons. We will never, ever see a Green Federal or State Government. One seat is not enough.

The Greens biggest problem seems to be their leaders..I mean I liked Bob Brown well enough but hardly noteworthy- and Christine Milne- give me strength-- she is much the same except she looks like she is sucking on a lemon. Reminds me of a mouse tbh. The Greens as a party , we need them don't we; for all the environmental stuff ? The only problem is there are some Greens reps who are just so rabid and far left, it steals from their "living in the real world" actuality/ credibilty. I am all for environment etc as well and I call myself a green rather than not at all....but some of the things you see written by a greenie is just way out of left field, this lets them down in the end. Mantra is a unashamed Greens supporter. She hopes one day to see The Greens in a position of power ( her devotion is very sweet), esp now with old growth forests and the Reef under threat..but I doubt that will happen in the near future- down the track a bit- I don't see why not.

The Greens WERE an Environment Party and that was fine. Save the forests, the whales and so forth. Answer me this, when did the Greens last make a stance on logging or anything else environmental?

Mantra loves animals, great and small, and there is nothing wrong with that. I love animals too, as does Black Orchid and various others who post here and there. However, I wouldn't vote Green in a fit. Way too radical and extremely left-wing.

TWO founding fathers of the Greens say the split between the old-school environmentalists and the new generation of ideologically driven urban activists now swelling the parliamentary ranks could destabilise the party and alienate voters.

The man who gave up his seat in the Tasmanian parliament 29 years ago to launch Bob Brown's political career, Norm Sanders, said the Greens had "lost the plot" by shifting away from their core business of the environment.

And Queenslander Drew Hutton, who co-founded the party in 1992 with Senator Brown, hit out at the "ludicrous" decision by the NSW division of the Greens to thumb its nose at federal policy and back an international trade boycott of Israel in the recent state election campaign.

"I just shake my head in wonder at why a state-based party would go into an election pushing out front of a federal issue that the state party has no reason to be concerned with," said Mr Hutton, 64. "Why would you be profiling issues above environmental issues at this particular time? . . . I don't think it helps to alienate significant groups inside the NSW voting public."

Mr Sanders, 78, said scathingly that the Greens were now "concerned with everything except the environment".

"You hear them going on about the tax system, same-sex marriage, adoption, all these social equity issues, but they don't talk about the environment much," he said.

Hi there I don't understand anyone that could vote greens or labor, most of there supporters seem slow. I mean it seems to me like in the community there are the thick people and the smart people. Most I see at these lefty protests all the time are just quietly very thick. I don't get the constant anger people like that have. It is like, I don't earn mega bucks so people that do, owe me so I am going to moan and join a union and carry on stupid because I want it on a bloody plate.

Not that all righties are intelligent but the scales seem to tip more right than left when weighing it up it seems.
