Watered-down AIDS

Post by AiA in Atlanta » Wed Dec 03, 2014 12:42 am

The team at the University of Oxford shows the virus is being "watered down" as it adapts to our immune systems.

Here is what I find fascinating:
"In theory, if we were to let HIV run its course then we would see a human population emerge that was more resistant to the virus than we collectively are today - HIV infection would eventually become almost harmless.
It is this "mechanism" that is responsible for everyone of us being alive today: our ancestors survived whatever Nature gave them and their progeny were the stronger for it.

Totally.

Wipe 1/2 of us out and the rest will have a resistance into the future. That's how it works. We are not evolving as a species going forward and we all want to live.

Maybe we are not weaker.... really. Nature will provide the next challenge. It is our understanding and technology that is our strength.

No pathogen will wipe us out totally. Some even if it is 1 in a million will survive.

Just read the full article in the times.
HIV is becoming less deadly as it evolves with those contracting the virus progressing to full AIDS more slowly as it becomes less virulent, a study has found. Some experts even hope that in the long-term HIV could become “almost harmless” as it continues to sacrifice infectious power for other advantages.
Like all living things it's primary purpose is survival and replication.

If we fight it very hard it will struggle to replicate so if it is less destructive we may allow it to survive like many of the other symbiotic relationships that already exist in our body.

It already takes a long time to kill people. Just compare it with ebola.

Have you been circumcised FD? It cuts risk of HIV infection.
